Duncan, not to take anything away from Garnett but Duncan has been the DPOY for the last 5 years.

Kevin Garnett. More tenacious. His emotion gets his teammates pumped up and also playing defense.

He's a great man defender in the post.
Can anchor.
Can defend on the perimeter.

Duncan had the advantage of playing with a better coach, a coach who knows defense. He also has had defensive players around him. 1 on 1 Kg is a better player on defense. Anchoring a defense Duncan is better. Once again(like with the offense) perfect compliments and individual enough that a comparison really does not make sense. It will just reflect what style you like more.
