Team A vs Team B

Post#1 » by Volcano » Sun Jan 27, 2008 8:10 am

My brother and I were playing a game...and we ended up with these teams:

Team A (my bro)

Kareem/Shaq
TD/KG
Larry Bird/Dr. J
Kobe/Clyde Drexler
Magic Johnson

Team B (me)

Wilt
Hakeem/Karl Malone
Scottie Pippen/Lebron James
Jordan/Jerry West
Stockton/Oscar Robertson

Everyone's in their primes, which team do you take in a head to head matchup?

Team B

EDIT: You might need a backup for Wilt unless you expect him to play all 48.

Wilt did have a season where he averaged around 50 minutes a game so I think he could play all 48 during his prime.

I don't think that team B has enough outside shooting

Team B, but not by much. But when you have LeBron coming off the bench, that's probably going to be an awesome team.

I'll go with Team A. The ball movement of that team between Bird/Magic/Duncan is unreal.

They could just runa three man rotation for bigs. Malone comes in for Wilt, Hakeem moves to Center.

This would be a sick game to watch. Between Kareem/TD/Garnett and Wilt/Hakeem/Malove, nobody would score in the paint. If the game came down to perimeter and mid-range scoring like I think it would, Bird and Kobe is slightly more firepower than Jordan/Pippen (albeit that is a suffocating defense). Also, I'm not old enough to have seen them play each other (nor did their primes match up), but I just don't see John Stockton, tough as he was, doing much against the 6'9 Magic.

Team A:

Prime Shaq is unstoppable. I think he starts over Kareem.
