So, it's just a coincidence that 70% of the mav's fans say Harris and 76% of the NBA fans say Howard?

Interesting! Like I said, it is a popularity contest on this board as people here look at stats and all-star nominations and people who watch the Mavs actually watch the game, fluidity with & without each, and understand the impact of each player on the game.

The question isn't who is better compared to players at the same position, the question is who is more important to the team.

As for the position, I admit Howard is better compared to the peers. Howard is the 3rd best SF accoring to Hollinger (behind Lebron and Butler) and Harris is the 9th best PG in the league. Analysts other than Hollinger have simlialr rankings.

The question is, who is more important to the Mavs team.

If I had a choice of having a player that the Mavs would sit out/or not play... it would easily be Howard. He is a much better all around player and you can't lay off of him on both sides of the court. Harris... you can sense he doesn't have a dependable jumper and is foul prone. It is just my personal choice and opinion.

Harris does have a jumper (45.3% on jumphots and Howard 46.0%); I don't know where you are getting that from. Must not be watching any of the games. Howard & Harris has around 3 fouls a game and the only reason why Howard has slightly less than 3 and Harris has slightly more than 3 is that Howard is playing a LOT LESS defense this year than last year.

Dallas fans just hit 76% for Harris and the NBA fans just hit 78% for Howard.

Long story short, ss_maverick, you are way off-line to tell me to step away from my crack dealer when 76% of the people who watch the mavs day in and day out say Harris and 78% for those who look at stats (like youself when you said "stats don't lie") say Howard.

Rest my case.

I'm done with this debate. /thread

Howard plays 7 more mins than Harris and has a significantly lower foul rate. Hell he(Harris) is the leader in fouls per game among point guards.

You think a sample of 39 games proves that Harris has a jumper? Jeez I don't know what to tell you. You know when players sag off of you and let you shoot an open shot it tells you that you don't have a respectable jumper.

Oh ok... you have a thing for Harris so it doesn't matter what anyone else says.

lol JES i didn't realise that even you were so much in love with Harris as to claim that he has a jumpshot. Just like his lack of playmaking, I have NEVER seen any hint of a good jumpshot with Harris. Howard makes 46% of jumpers while Harris makes 45.3% but Howard is almost always contested on jumpshots whereas teams always dare Harris to shoot as TDITM said. I can accept that Harris can slash well but don't bother pretending that he can playmake or shoot because he can't. And I say this as a diehard Mavs fan

Harris. In fact, it looks like Howard is more of a burden to you guys, why not trade him to the Warriors? I know you wants some Al Harrington...
