Calderon
Parker
Kidd

Calderon keeps getting better. Just when you think he has reached his ceiling he takes another step. He is doing that with his scoring right now.

I honestly feel every shot he takes will go in. He is a pleasure to watch.

I feel Calderon will be recognized as one of the elite point guards next year. He already is this year, but people still won't believe what is in front of their eyes.

kind of ot:

I did recognize that calderon is seen as overrated on this board, but I actually feel like the calderon-hypers dont do any good to him:

he is a great player...just not as good as some would like him to be (right now)...he is no steve nash or chris paul but has to be in the mix after that

coz of everyones hyping, a lot of people get sick of it and just hate on him...IMO he right now is seen as a product of all the hyping, rather than his playing...

I just saw a game of him and I liked what he did...I'm pretty sure he would get a lot more props if he could let his playing do the hyping than all the stupid posters with posts like:
calderon>>>your fav player

...what if I like kobe or timmy?

I didn't watch the game today but it seemed like Calderon had his worst shooting night this season.

Kidd
Parker
Calderon

You have to recognize what Calderon has done this year on BOTH ends of the court. So while on one hand you have to love his efficiency and AST-TO ratio you have to puke all over yourself when you watch him play "defense"

I'm tempted to put Parker over Kidd though as crazy as it may sound... Kidd is a much more well-rounded player than Parker but Parker's ability to get into the paint and finish is just flat out devastating (especially come playoff time).

Yeah, because Kidd has amazing D.

I don't remember the last time a point guard put up big numbers on the Raps, so I'm not terribly worried about is horrible D. Its not like he does not try on D, so I'll take the effort.

Tony P is not light years ahead of Calderon (if he was ahead at all).

I'll give Tony P the heads up on defense (he is on the Spurs, so I assume he plays good D), and attacking the paint.

Calderon is a better passer, shooter, much more efficient, is no slouch at attacking the paint, and is more clutch than Tony's ferrari.

Caldy's season starter stats.

PPG: 15
APG:10
FG%: 54.4
3P%: 47
FT%: 92
TO: 1.9

Tony P's season stats.

PPG: 19
AST: 6
FG%: 48
3P%: 24
FT%: 72
TO: 2.6

Considering the stats look pretty even too me, I think all the "hype" the "Raptor trolls" spew is pretty resonable. I guess it pays to give a bit of rationale in your posts rather than going,

PARKAR
KIDZ

LOL CAKES

Caldiwho?

By no means is Calderon perfect. I'll be the first to tell you that. (We all know about the weak D, but Calderon also kills the fast break far too much, does not shoot or look for is own scoring opportunities enough) But all this bull about how he is not fit to wash Tony P's car is pretty silly.

Kidd is a 10 p, 10 a and 8 r guy but now that he is in Dallas, I project him to be a 6-8 p, 12-14 a, and 4-5 r guy. He has alot more weapons in Dallas, and his scoring or rebounding is not needed. But when you throw in shooting % (36% which is sub par for him, appaling to everyone else) and TO's, (3-1, form my math, albeit, his TO's are usually from throwing spectacular passes than are not caught) and his faltering D (don't watch too much Kidd, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say he is not that much better at D than Calderon.) it levels things out.

I can't rank them as I feel they are all pretty even, (I think Kidd is the third wheel for this year, I would hazard a guess that he could easily end the year as the lead assist man in the league) for this year [Of course being a Raptor fan, I'll say 1. Caldy, 2. Parker, 3. Kidd, but what do you want me to do?] (we can't talk career as Kidd is ancient, Parker has 6 years under his belt, and Caldy is only in his 3rd year in this league.) but I'd take Parker if I needed a dynamic scorer who can rip the paint up, Calderon if I need a second in command guy, who can shoot when called upon but can also pass and keep people involved, and Kidd if I need a experienced leader/veteran that can just flat out pass and take care of himself on the boards.
