Not really. Like I pointed out before, that means about 4.82 of each of their made FGs are assisted, which accounts for 9.6 points. So Dwight scores 11.1 unassisted and Yao scores 12.4. Thats not a sizable difference. Not sizable enough to explaing an almost 10% difference in eFG%
If you're going to strictly look at efg%, that doesn't tell the whole story. Yao is by far the superior free throw shooter, which efg% does not include. I don't have the TS%s of both players, but that stat paints a much better picture in scoring efficiency.
Edit: Also I'd like to add that their are times when Dwight goes through periods where he's not really involved in the offense. In fact I distcintly remember a point in time when he complained about it. Yao gets the ball pounded into him almost every possession, and then he's doubled and forced to pass it out. The amount of attention Yao draws compared to Dwight on the offensive end is pretty big.
Another thing is in H2H matchups, Yao has pretty much outplayed Dwight in every past meeting so far, so those are some proven results in the clash of the titans.

TS% - Dwight is at 62% and Yao is at 59%. Dwight is the the more efficient scorer any way you look at it. Yao has a marginally better back to the basket game. But in the nba points are points. Do we take away from players that clean up on the offensive boards and receive higher amounts of assisted baskets? Do we ignore the players who resort to dunking the ball the majority of the time? No to both questions. If Dwight can score 21ppg in a season by getting assisted basketballs and offensive rebounds it makes it just as effective as Yao scoring 22ppg off of his post game. Often more effective because it is overall more efficient. But it is a shame people actually try to reduce Howard to just a clean up man on offense when it is far from the truth. Unintelligent to say the least.

Dwight does go through periods of not being involved in the offense. I agree 100%. However, Dwight plays with better scorers and a better offensive team. Yao is doubled team. Dwight is double teamed. Dwight receives similar attention as Yao does on the offensive end. I am not sure where you are coming up with the conclusion that he doesn't. Dwight anchors a top 10 offensive team and one of the best 3 point shooting teams in nba history.

Dwight gets to play Yao ming 2 games out of the entire season. I agree Yao is better in the H2H matchups However it is hardly a way to come to a conclusion on who is better than who. Dwight dominates the other 29 teams more so than Yao.

Also, PPS Dwight: 1.74, Yao: 1.42
There's still one glaring stat that puts Dwight head and shoulders above Yao:
Dwight: 82
Yao: 55
Dwight: 164
Yao: 103
Dwight: 246
Yao: 160
Dwight: 328
Yao: 240
Games Played last season, last 2 seasons, last 3 seasons and dwight's career respectively.
Even if Yao is marginally better than Dwight (definitely arguable), Dwight has a huge impact advantage.

Dwight vs Yao by the numbers
Dwight Howard
20.7 PPG / 14.2 RPG / 1.3 APG / 0.9 SPG / 2.1 BPG / 3.2 TPG / 60% FG / 59% FT / 61.9% TS% / 22.9 PER
Yao Ming
22.0 PPG / 10.8 RPG / 2.3 APG /0.5 SPG / 2.0 BPG / 3.3 TPG / 51% FG / 85% FT / 58.7% TS% / 22.5 PER
If you could only have one of them for 1 year only and based on the numbers above and being healthy which player do you take?
If I can only have one for 1 year and based on the above statistics, assuming both are healthy, I easily take Yao Ming. What sold me on Yao is the 85% FT shooting. Having my star big man being one of my top FT shooters gives me one hell of an advantage because I can now keep him in games going down the stretch and feel confident about it. His superior offense arsenal and ability to make big plays down the stretch of games along with his free throw shooting makes up for any advantage Dwight has over him, which is really only the rebounding differential.
