There is only one way to do such a comparison without getting your face smashed in,it is if you do a progress for progress comparison.

You take the 5 years Lebron has been in the league

The first 5 years Jordan was in the league

And the 4 years Kobe has had a team to himself

MJ was by far the best player of the three in stats but had little playoff sucess due to meeting Bad Boy Pistons and Bird's Celtics but challenged them which is a feat in itself. He carried a team on his back and began his ascent.

Lebron in his 1st season doubled his team wins and missed the playoffs but has been to the playoffs and has been very sucessful to have made it to the NBA Finals at 22. Lebron in my eyes is the better player in terms of accomplishments.

Kobe was the best player in the league during early Lebron years without debate. 1st round knockouts in every playoffs though hurts his credibility. The one year(this year) where it seems Lebron is poised to take the crown, he fixes the only kink in his character- his team play. He gets a better team around him and retains the crown but how far they go is yet to be determined.

I still take Jordan but Lebrons age is what may drive someone to think otherwise.
