5 games is the difference between 1st and 8th in the west.

Roy had to make it. No one would've thought that the Blazers would win all of their games. Roy will be better than Ginobili. He is going to be a stud.

That's true about the ASG...imo they are pretty equal now. Manu has the playoff experience and resume of a champion, but roy hasnt got the opportunity to do so yet..so we don't really know how roy would do on the big stage of the playoffs..guess we'll find out next year :) ?

I'm a blazer fan, and a huge Roy fan but that is horrible logic. The ASG like most is a good part popularity contest when it comes to the selections. Just because one player gets a spot in the game doesn't equal that he is better then another that didn't.

Edit: I still think this is a silly comparison. Manu has way more years of both international and NBA experience.

Well my only question would be, how good would the Spurs be if Brandon Roy was coming off the bench instead of Ginobili? I dont think you would see that much drop off to be honest. I think Manu is the better, more seasoned player right now, but give Roy 7 years and who knows where this conversation goes

Roy's the better defender, better passer, and less turnover prone. He's also more consistent than Manu and is able to play more minutes. But Manu is still the better player, even if he is usually overrated on these boards.

I'd rather have Roy as the first option though. Manu might lead the league in TOs if he was the first option and is too inconsistent to be relied upon every night as a first option. Besides, a first option usually needs to play 35+ minutes, which Manu probably can't do without a decline in his play.
