I'm not sure why this is even close. The Pistons have advantages at every position except PF (Isiah > Parker, Dumars > Ginobili, Dantley/Aguirre > Bowen, Laimbeer > all Cs except '99 Robinson). Even given Duncan's abilities at the PF, I'll gladly take a big man rotation featuring Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman (in his prime!), Salley, and Edwards over whatever the Spurs can throw at the Pistons. Plus, add an explosive scorer off the bench in Vinnie Johnson, and the Spurs simply do not have the firepower to keep up.

Except Laimbeer didn't even argue the call and look dumbfounded and beaten when it was called on him (hell, I think he even fouled out on the play). Like an idiot he tried to block Kareem's sky hook, and like an idiot he failed. Worthy was there for the tip jam anyway, and they got bitched in Game 7 bottom line. Deal with it kid.

Different era's.
Could the Spurs defend under the rules in the late 80's early 90's. I think they could.
Could the Pistons defend under the current no hand check/flopping/defensive 3 seconds/zone rules. Debateable because the reason why the Pistons are called the Bad Boys is because of their physical play. With flagrant fouls and the way the game is referee'd now I don't think so.....
