Which duo would you start a franchise around?

You always take a big/small combo over a small/small combo assuming equal talent levels. And in this case, the talent levels aren't equal, with two top 5 players on one squad and one top 2 player and one top 20-25 player on the other squad.

If both in their prime, kareem and magic. Their just easier to build around. Jordan and Pippen complimented each other perfectly as inidividuals; kareem and magic complimented each other perfectly in order to build a team style, free to be flexible. With Magic, you can go at breakneck speed to run the other team out. If that is stopped and you get slowed down, you got kareem in the post. You can even put Magic in the post, too. And Kareem can start the fast break with rebounding and anchoring defense.
Pay no mind to the battles you've won

I understand you usually build your team from the inside out, and starting with Kareem would make sense.
The only exception to this rule is with Jordan. I think it's too hard to pass on a franchise that has Jordan, when you're getting a second top 25-30 player who complements him well.
