His "career year" consists of 9 points 1 assist and 2 rebounds while shooting 45%, quite impressive if you ask me

I never had heard of Sasha's great defense before this series.

compared to the years before it was a career year because for the first time he wasn't completely useless. ( something he will return to once until the last year of his new undeserving contract )

I'd easily take The Machine over The Wuss.

Suddenly his defense is better than Bruce Bowen's?

Give me Kapono.

Lakers D with Sasha on the court: 112.3 points per 100 possessions against.
Lakers D with him on the bench: 103.6 points per 100 possessions against.

That is a whopping 8.7 point difference, which is huge.

On top of that, 4 of their 5 worst defensive 5 man units include him.

You'd think the Lakers would be better defensively with such a stifling defender on the court, and not massively worse.

Taking into account that when he enters the game, most of the time he replaces a player that was voted 5th for DPOY this season, and who also made the All Defensive 1st team for the 6th time, one would expect the Laker defense to drop somewhat. Sasha is a pretty good defender (not great, but solid), but Kobe is a lot better so obviously the Lakers play better defense when Kobe is on the floor.

Not to mention he plays with the Lakers bench most of the time.

PJ>>>>>>>>>you.

In the playoffs, sure. He didn't do that for most of the regular season though, and that defensive stat is based on the entire regular season.

Lakers with Kobe on court: 106.2 points per 100 possessions against.
Lakers with Kobe off court: 106.8 points per 100 possessions against.

That doesn't explain Vujacic's absolutely terrible on court/off court numbers. If it was just because he was replacing Bryant, and the Lakers only give up 106.8 points per 100 possessions with Kobe on the bench, how is Vujacic's on court defensive # at 112.3 points per 100 possessions against?
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
