RJ vs Odom

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Mon Jun 9, 2008 9:56 pm

RJ is my favorite non Laker. I am a Laker fan.
Odom is a Laker.

Even though there is a conflict here I think I can not be bias.
Simply put RJ is alot better. He is proven healthy now, he is consistant and he is a warrior.
Odom is a better rebounder. That's really about it. I know he can do just about anything on the court but RJ is pretty damm versitle.

odoms a better rebounder, passer, and a lot more versitle...a player that is "capable" of playing 5 positions is more versatile than a player that can play 2 or maybe 3 positions

Odom is so incredibly overrated..

he can't even create his own offense..all I hear about in every series is how Odom has a mismatch off the dribble..I wasn't worried at all when we played LA, and I was right..he couldn't even score on Oberto off the dribble..his iso game is useless and he doesn't have a consistent jumper..most of his points seem to come off Kobe, and even Gasol..

he's a good passer and rebounder for his position, but he's definitely overrated..

Slightly disagree. Odom can create for himself, the only problem is that he can't shoot worth crap. He pushes his shot out too hard, and they always end up taking long bounces off the rim. Other than that, his lefty layup on the drive is money.

I'd probably take RJ myself as well, but Odom is pretty efficient just being on the court. Putting him at the 3 makes the Lakers a tough rebounding team, and creates a lot of problems for defenders.

I would go with Richard Jefferson because he is a better offensive player and is about equal with Odom on the defensive end.

Jefferson's a better scorer. Odom for everything else.

I'd definitely take Odom overall, especially for the Lakers.

depends.

if i want more offense ill take Jefferson.

but if i dont have a good PG or need more rebounding ill go with odom, they are completly diff players

the fact that RJ is Tougher and more Consistent, and attacks the basket constantly setting a tone for his team.

ill take Richard Jefferson but RJ is my fav player ever so.....im biased.

As much as this guy always exaggerates to make the Lakers and their players seem worse than they are he's right on this one.

Odom can only go to his left and since players know this they always draw charges on him. He can't really post up but has a jump hook. He has a jumpshot that he can pull up and take but it's not very good. Really his strength is passing and rebounding. That's about it though. I'd take RJ for the Lakers next year over Odom.

They don't play the same position. Odom is a PF. RJ is the much better SF.

Overall Odom is probably the better player because of his rebounding and passing ability, but RJ is the much better scorer. With Bynum back in the lineup the Lakers would be better off with RJ.
