Roy:
better playmaker, high baskeball iq, better left-hand-layuper

Joe:
better one-on-one skilled guy, better shooting from dribb, stronger

Rip:
better, maybe best off-ball moving guy , better catch&shot, better on ball D

Ray:
Clutch, better 3pt shooting, tie rip with catch&shot

AI:
better on D overall , strong dunker

Ben Gordon:
Knows everything on the offence end, nothing on the D end, worst passer maybe.

So everyone goes with the young guy who has strong efficiency and a high ceiling over proven playoff veterans with better defense?

Tell me seriously, if we're talking about having a player for a 7-game series, that you wouldn't take the most consistent shooters from title teams (Ray, Rip) over Roy. Gordon is a better shooter with playoff experience too, but you can rule him out for being streaky, undersized, and not having much success. Iggy, however, is more playoff tested. He's just as dynamic as Roy but we know he plays some of the best perimeter defense in the L. The Sixers with Iggy (17-12) were just as good as the Blazers with Roy (12-12) after the all-star break.

Roy has everyone beat out in size save Joe Johnson, probably the only player on the list that also rivals him in terms of talent/skill at this point in their career. But Joe also has show he can turn it up in the playoffs, and has been there in both conferences (though he got hurt with Phoenix).

I am underrating Roy's statistical contribution, but he does play on a very young squad where he's the main facilitator and #1 offensive option. He may very well be better than any of these guys next season, but give me a dead-eye shooter with title experience before a young phenom.

I love the if I only take these 20 games it proves that this player is better argument. Your way off if you think in some way that Roy isnt a good defender. He is solid defensively just like he is at basically everything.
