Iguodala.

Martin is a better shooter/scorer and will be in the future, but that's about where it stops. They score at comparable efficiencies (though Martin has a better longball), and rebound at about the same rate. But Iggy is by far and away the better playmaker and defender.

I really wouldn't want either as a #1 option on my team. But looking at the skills they bring for a #2, I'll definitely take Andre. His skillset is much more likely to complement a dominant player by taking defensive pressure off of the main guy. Additionally, he can carry the load if the other guy is struggling to score/facilitate the offense. Iggy is one of the most solid all-around wings in the league. If he can work on his jumper he will be a very deadly player.

Iggy, the guy is strong, can attack, and hes a pretty decent scorer, which is only getting better. He has great defense, and his play making skills have gotten better over the years. Give me Iggy now, and for the future. I think he is the better player who is only getting better. Martin has good scoring skills, but I think thats the only thing he has on Iggy.

neither is a first option

martin is a better shooter and scorer, iggy is a better defender, rebounder and playmaker.iggy is also stronger and more athletic.

I agree with the poster that said neither is a 1st option and with THAT being the case I'd take Martin because he's just so damn efficient as a secondary scorer. Typically #1 options are volume scorers and therefore have a #1 option AND Iggy creates TWO volume scorers on your team. So In short, I take Martin.

this in not clear until kevin martin is in a playoff series. all he has to do is score 14 ppg and he's better. iggy is extremely overrated. and do you want to know who else was robbed of a dunk title? desmond mason and gerald green, and if you offered them 9 mil a year they would'nt be a b*tch. transplant kevin martin to a desperate east coast team and he'd be the second coming of christ.

IIRC, he was pretty close to doing that against the Spurs a couple of years ago--coming off the bench.

And really, for me, it just depends on what you need, but I think it's short-sighted to just look at scoring as a slight advantage for Kevin. What he does scoring is truly something special. Being able to score like he does despite the fact that he doesn't have many plays called for him is ridiculous.

They shoot at comparable efficiencies (though Martin has a clear edge), but they really really don't score at comparable efficiencies.
Martin scores 23.6 on 14.9 FGA
Iggy scores 19.9 on 15.6 FGA

The 1st one is an elite scorer, the second one is a good one.

And I disagree that Iggy is a better fit as 2nd option.
Next to a dominant post player I'll take Martin.
Next to a dominant penetrating wing who dominates the ball (LeBron), I'll take Martin.
Iggy fits next to perimeter oriented player who play off the ball for a significant portion of the 24 (Dirk for example), or next to guys who shoot a lot (Arenas, Kobe).

All in all, it depends on what you need.
