but wtf? combining league's best shooter and one of the better athlete gives you borderline starter?

James Jones (player on the Miami Heat) is a run of the mill athlete, he's not Jamario Moon in that sense but he is an athlete, and an amazing spot-up shooter who puts the ball in the bucket from long range at a very high percentage. His career high is 9.3 PPG.

You can't expect to add a shooting touch to an athlete and automatically assume he's going to be Kobe Bryant -- Jason Kapono nor Jamario Moon has the ability to effectively create off the dribble, they rely on others to make a shot for them. You combine the skillsets and you'll see the spot-up shooter throwing down alley oops and running on fastbreaks, that's pretty much it because that's all they're capable of doing. Take for example, Kobe. Kobe Bryant has one of the better shooting strokes in the NBA, an upper class athlete, but what makes him so dangerous is his ability to create his shot and still score from any point on the floor. Jamario+Kapono? That player is going to camp around the arc waiting for someone to feed him the ball. Not a superstar, arguable as a starter, but definitely a good role player.

Jamario Moon is far superior athletically than Jones and he knows how to use it, he's one of the better rebounding and shot blocking sf in the league and overall a pretty good defensive player, Kapono doesn't just camp outside th arc, he does a decent job of moving without the ball, but yea they can't really create for themselves. Jones on the other hand, is basically a three point specialist who isn't as good as Kapono, JM and JK combined is more than james jones

Haha, the example was bad, but it was for lack of a better one. It doesn't matter the example as long as you're conceiving the point I was trying to establish.

I said thad young would have to be a 35/10/5 player. Not moonpono. I said moon+pono would be 25/7/3. Moon can create for himself. He just can't finish because hes not a good shooter. When you got the athleticism of moon and the jump shot of kapono, you can create for yourself.
