What percent of the world population is 7 feet or taller? And out of that percentage, how many are going to want to play BBall AND be great at it?

The odds are probably 1 in 100-300 million. Just wait another decade or so and there will be more great big men coming into the NBA. The current trend is just that, a trend.

P.S - This thread is a prime example of requiring a high school diploma to register.

Lets hope that all the hype doesn't stop Oden from working as hard as he can possibly work to truly become a great C.

^^Oden has been working his tail off for almost a year now during his rehab.

From what I hear, he has a tremendous work ethic and the hype never gets to him. He feels the pressure to succeed, but he is still a very down to earth guy.

He sure enjoyed the ESPYs. Time to get back to work and show that he deserves all the media attention despite having done absolutely nothing in professional sports.

Wow, let's keep him in the gym 23 hours a day shall we?

Seriously, he's worked his arse off, he deserved a break.
