1st ballot

It would be a complete travesty if a 2 time MVP and the greatest shooter of all time doesnt get in.

that is simply just not true. People were never able to see it in the NBA because by the time he got here he was in his 30s, but Arvydas Sabonis is the greatest international player of all-time. Yao will be better than Nash too.

Nash is the most accomplished Int player when you look at his 2 NBA MVPs. Nash is w/o question 1st team alltime Int player. I agree Sabonis was a better player but he doesnt have the accolades. I have seen about a dozen SGs with more talent than MJ but they dont have the accolades. Some never even made the NBA.

id say hakeem is more accomplished with 2 finals mvp's. and can you name the dozen shooting guards that had more talent then mj, just for fun

I second this question.
"Being good is good, that'll get you Drew Gooden. But me I want Jordan numbers, [DRose] footin'. Can't guard me, Vince Lombardi, John Wooden."

Really dumb question in 2008, even dumber now in 2011.

It's either him, Allen, or Miller.

How this is a stupid question astounds me, but that is beside the point...

Allen is in another league entirely. Reggie is the closest to him, and Ray only just passed his record...

Nash runs a higher percentage on waaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower ast% while still maintaining pretty solid volume

he's certainly top 3-4 and I'd say definitely the best on ball shooter

I'd say Nash's mid range is better too

Nash is having a down shooting year and allen is having a career percentage year because he spots up for the vast majority of his jumpers

overall
Nash: 3.8 attempts 43% shooting an ast% on 3's about 35% on average, 25% this year
Allen: 5.8 attempts 39% shooting ast% on 3's around 80% in his prime, over 90% now

Allen has Nash beat on volume by around 2 a game for his career but Nash makes them at a higher clip while creating waaaaaaaaaaaay more of his own jumpers and taking way more pull up and off balance shots

The mid range game is Nash by a mile

efg% is a decent way to measure overall shooting though finishing gets factored in and Nash is running a career 56 efg% (with a peak of 61.3%) compared to Allen's 53% efg (and peak of 58.6 efg% and that's this year when he's turned into an almost pure spot up shooter)

Allen has Nash beat solidly on volume but to say Nash isn't a top shooter all time, and probably the best if you emphasize percentage and ability to create your own jumper over pure volume, means you should see Nash shoot more often

Nash will never be in the hall of fame.

It is impossible to be in the hall of fame if you are still playing.

Steve Nash will never stop playing.

Thus Steve Nash will never be in the hall of fame.

It's easier to shoot off of a screen than to dribble to a spot and shoot a shot you created yourself, while still being defended.

absolutely..even though he's overrated by almost everybody due to his system that revived his career.

The "system" was simply being made the #1 option and being given complete control over the offense. That's it.

He deserves it even without the MVP's. He's arguably the best pure shooter of all time, a top 10 passer and a top 10 overall offensive weapon. Definitely should be in the HOF.

Lebron James is only good because of a similar "system" that allows him to make all the decisions...
