This is probably my ranking as well. I can very easily understand a case for having LeBron above Shaq, but that honestly feels more like an argument for Lebron's prime being greater than Shaq's, as opposed to the absolute peak. I could also be persuaded to move Shaq above Jordan. His 2000 campaign is truly monstrous and is without question in discussion for most impactful single season.

Well for one, the numbers of Lebron's single-year peak just outright look better for one.

According to the all-in-one metrics, and even the basic box-score, yes.

According to all-in-one metrics, David Robinson peaked higher than Hakeem Olajuwon and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, no?
The issue with per75 numbers;
36pts on 27 fga/9 fta in 36 mins, does this mean he'd keep up the efficiency to get 48pts on 36fga/12fta in 48 mins?
The answer; NO. He's human, not a linearly working machine.
Per75 is efficiency rate, not actual production.

i would probably say:

1. MJ (early 90's) - would just trust him most for a big game, can't really say his peak play is any higher than lebron's though.
2. Lebron (2009 or 2016) - impacts the game in so many ways that I think I have to put him above shaq
3. Shaq - tempting to put 94 hakeem ahead for the defense, and because shaq's game 7 against portland is pretty underwhelming, but a 30/15 playoff run in the slow-paced 2000 season is pretty amazing.
4. As a rockets fan, this is tough, but i'm not sure hakeem was just tearing people apart like shaq was, although hakeem dominated ewing every bit as much as he did robinson and, with no drexler, was expected to be everything to the offense that year (his 2nd and 3rd best scorers against the knicks shot horribly).

ir would be interesting to discuss which one would adapt better to modern game (yes, i consider peak lebron as predating the modern 3 ball explosión )

I'm really glad to see that Peak Lebron and Peak Shaq are tied in this poll.

I don't think Shaq gets as enough credit as he should in terms of overall impact in comparison to Lebron.

Peak Shaq and Peak Lebron truly are 2A and 2B Imo behind Jordan, and are literally tied with a 99, MJ being a 100/100.
