Interestingly to me, the '94 rockets are a notably weak team without their star but per 36 minutes their bench was hardly a dropoff from their starting 5

I don't think I can find worse than 1976 Celtics, I didn't realize how thin their roster was, even in comparison to 1974 team.

Other notable mentions:

- 2012 Heat,
- 1999 Spurs,
- 1993 Bulls,
- 1978 Bullets,
- 1956 Warriors.

As before definition is key ...

but some eyeballed ones ... looking RS, looking a absolute quality (so not versus starters, not can they do a role with the teams superstar).

Basically just starting by looking at weak champs...

'58 Hawks thin beyond Pettit and Hagan, improved a little with Martin which means he did something but . yeah Macauley is somewhat productive but I think a liability or thereabouts on D and production probably not that exceptional for a big. Share's productivity way down from his prime.

'78 Bullets - already mentioned

'55 Nats: No. Probably not great in abolute terms but Kerr was effective in that league and between Kerr, Kenville and Farley - and based on eyeball aggregating the Reference box-composites - three of the most productive players were coming off the bench. Unlikely to be in this absolute worst discussion.

76 Celts: Mentioned

'95 Rockets: Not with Cassell, Elie, Brooks (off non-starter criteria - order and players considered might vary by other methods - in season trade, late year walkout make assessing depth messy).

Nobody has basketball referenced the 06’ Heat yet?

Prime Posey, Old Payton and Old Mourning is a respectable bench.

In fact the team was significantly better in the post season with Posey/Payton rather than the starters sans Wade.

Yea those Bulls were very low talent for a championship team. Second threepeat too. It's hideous how some people think Jordan had alot of talent on his teams. He carried those teams every year, though Pippen was a great second best player on s team.

They were so low on talent who can forget them winning 28 games in 1994 and securing a top 5 pick

Filled up with guys who joined the team in 94
Kerr, Meyers, Kukoc, Wennington were 4,5,6,7 in minutes played. None were there in 93.
Stacey King, who was 7th man in 93 was 11th in 94
Paxson, 8th in minutes in 93, was 12th in 94.
They added a lot of depth guys in 94.
