Jimmy's advanced stats blows 19 Kawhi away:

22 Jimmy: 30/8/5/2 | 33.1 PER | 13.8 BPM | 63.3% TS | .354 WS/48
19 Kawhi: 31/9/4/2 | 27.9 PER | 10.1 BPM | 61.9% TS | .249 WS/48

Comparing their series individually:

ECQF
22 Jimmy: 31/8/5/3 | 34.4 PER | 63.6% TS | .386 WS/48
19 Kawhi: 28/7/3/1 | 30.2 PER | 67.9% TS | .310 WS/48

ECSF
22 Jimmy: 28/8/6/2 | 30.1 PER | 60.5% TS | .299 WS/48
19 Kawhi: 35/10/4/1 | 33.5 PER | 63.4% TS | .276 WS/48

ECF
22 Jimmy: 41/9/5/4/3 | 51.6 PER | 76.2% TS | .581 WS/48 (1 game)
19 Kawhi: 30/10/4/2 | 26.4 PER | 57.4% TS | .194 WS/48

Looks to me quite close. Jimmy has one good game in a series and he needs to win two more series to compare.

How about 1976 Dr J? It was only 2 series but statistically, that title run was better than any besides 91 Jordan.

I thought of Dr. J later on, but I am glad you mentioned him.

I don't wanna jinx him, but yeah......Buckets has been off the friggin' hook this playoffs.

He's been slept on a number of times, imo, and has had a great year overall. I recall earlier this season there was some fantasy team draft going on here, and I think it was Colbini who had the 8th or 9th pick, and I mentioned [just as a spectator] I thought Butler was a steal at that spot.

Someone spoke up saying, "hey, is he allowed to make suggestions like that?", and I was like "No, probably not....sorry." But I've been thinking highly of him for awhile.

If he can close the playoffs even kinda close to this level [en route to a title], that's legit prime-MJ level playoff run. I'd still temper that with consideration of his FULL season......but I'd consider that at least a top 35-40 peak all-time. Probably higher.

I think Butler probably just infiltrated my top 100 all-time as of last season. And then such a season as we're describing here would push him up quite a bit. And then if we follow the usual schedule, the next top 100 project would be NEXT year; if he has even a roughly '18-level year next year.......yeah, he'll have climbed fairly far on my ATL. Top 60? Very likely, yes. Top 50? Maybe.

2020 butler was 19 kawhi level he just didn’t quite have the teammates to win so doesn’t get the same rub.

With the highs he's capable off it's actually pretty crazy he never made it higher than the All-NBA 3rd team. I wouldn't be surprised if he became to be seen as this generation's Reggie Miller. Always dangerous and competitive in the play-offs but not dominant enough in the regular season to be seen among the top echelon of stars by casuals.

I think teams still don't treat Butler like a superstar defensively, which is why he dominates them so much. I could be wrong, but that's my take after watching Sixers series and game 1 of ECF.

unfortunate being a forward and having to compete with kawhi, lebron, kd, giannis

he definitely gets 2nd team in 2021 over randle if he hadnt missed 20 games

is not as bad as miller as the guys always ahead of butler are actually better than him, this was a stacked era for wings

miller was arguably rhe second best guard of his era after jordan (maybe third to drexler or penny when he played) but got little recognition in all nba teams and even all stars
