Durant also has 11 prime seasons. Currently Oscar played 101 more regular season games, while Durant played 69 playoff games. A difference in 32 games over 10+ years can hardly be called longevity difference.

I already explained you my thoughts on this. You may disagree, but I don't find 2008-09 Durant games as relevant.

I treat all superstars' missing playoff seasons during their primes as little value.

Which is fine, we don't have to agree on that. It requires quite specific logic to value 2021 Durant over 1968 Oscar, but fair enough.

Don't you think Nets might have won a championship with Durant's performance had Kyrie and Harden not both injured. At least they had a really good chance.

Don't you think that 2021 Durant wouldn't make the playoffs with 1968 Royals?

Possible, then I would ranking his season down accordingly for not giving himself and the team a chance to win.

So you give Durant credit for what his team did without him... How does it make any sense?

I give players for what they did do, not what they did not do. For Durant 2021, it was his played games in the regular seasons and great performance in playoffs. I also give credit for Durant joining 73w Warriors and Oscar joining KAJ to win championships.

Durant won less games in 2022 than Oscar in 1968 though, so how can you say that this season is more valuable?

KD was there for more meaningful games. Or if you want, Oscar had a better regular season.

But Oscar also would be there for playoffs games in Durant's place in 2021.

but Durant would won 5 with KAJ... Again, we have to look at what happened.

Yeah, that's great analogy.

So you finally decided that I am biased against current players?

Yes, Durant is a better player with comparable longevity and higher achievements already. Anything he does from this point is icing on the cake.

Realistically, I think he'll play another 2-3 years at the level he did this year and then be done legacy wise. So with those parameters in place and not giving him much of a chance to win a ring either I would have him in the 30-35 range. With a ring changes things somewhat. I'm not high on Harden as a leader.

I think you should tell all posters here that they fail to see something so obvious. Or maybe they all have huge oldschool players bias, who knows?

You should do the same. I have seen more and more rankings have KD ahead of Oscar at around top 10 ATG range.

That's because Durant is active now and Oscar played 60 years ago. It's a very weak argument.

What's wrong with active? On the other hand, the gap is only going to grow bigger as Durant still has at least a few good seasons left.

Nothing wrong, but people know much more about Durant than Oscar. Most people haven't seen a single Oscar game and view him as historical comparison to Russell Westbrook (which is ridiculous).

Given how often Durant misses games in last 3 years, I wouldn't be so certain. The gap is going to become a bit smaller, but he won't overcome Oscar.
