To answer this, we first need to quantify what "contributing little else" means. Every player is going to grab a few boards and pick up a few assists. I think the criteria varies by position. Here are my criteria on a per 40 basis:

Any point guard with fewer than 6 assists.

Any shooting guard with fewer than 4 assist and 4 rebounds.

Any small forward with fewer than 3 assists and 6 rebounds.

Any power foward with fewer than 9 rebounds.

Any center with fewer than 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.

I'd say the best all time pure scorer was Reggie Miller. He gave you nothing in rebounds and assists, but from a pure scoring perspective, he was perhaps the most efficient volume scorer of all time. In his 1990-91 year, he posted the highest offensive rating of all time for any guy averaging at least 15 points per 40.

Don't see Ricky Pierce mentioned. Guy was the definition of a pure gunner.

How about changing the thread to "20 ppg scorer that brought the least to the table" outside of points?

surprised how many people wete saying reggie miller years ago

i guess the concept of off-ball gravity was not en vogue yet (also his defensive rep is good these days which i suppose was not the case in 2008?)

Next-level necroposting.

Alex English IMO, or Dantley if you count him.

His defensive rep was alot weaker in his playing days. And he was also a super controversial player in his days, with a lot of fans feeling he was super overrated. They were still around in 08.

Looking for a team so will need some centers who were all-star scoring level but below average rebounders and defenders. Amare Stoudamire, Dan Issel, Rik Smits, Bob Rule, Steve "Big Hands" Johnson, Kevin Duckworth? (I so want to say Brook Lopez but his defense was good in Milwaukee for a bit. I'd say Lanier if I wanted to pick a fight but he was a decent rebounder as well).

Kelly Tripuka, Cassie Russell, Mike Mitchell, Dale Ellis come to mind for another pure scoring wings.

Michael Redd.

Could shoot the lights out. Didn't pass or defend. Had a couple of OK rebounding seasons.
