Butler is in this weird area where he was probably the best player of the playoffs when healthy, although playoff jimmy has a sample of this year and the 2020 finals since before that he wasn’t at that level
He was averaging 30-7-6 on 63.5TS on a 7% turnover ratio prior to the knee injury, so I think a lot of people have a assumption that that’s just playoff jimmy
I don’t know if I’m 100% on board with that, his RS effeciency has seen an uptick in Miami altho he sucked last years playoffs, maybe he just got hot
If your assuming he’s like that in the playoffs in general which a lot of people are (like a 30-7-6 on uber high effeciency) then I don’t think he’s overhyped (or his postseason at least) since healthy jimmy was probably at a raptors Kawhi level and the best playoff performer so far
I like butler a lot too but I’d prolly wanna see one more time of him doing this before crowning him, but it’s still crazy a team picked Tobias Harris over him
Not crazy at all given that Butler it an absolute head-case for most teams. Miami deserves a lot of credit for getting the most out of Butler who at his best is a legit star on both sides of the court. The 76ers never would have got that out of him.
They nearly won a championship with him.
I dont know why people talking out of their butt in regards to Butler in Philly. Philly couldn't afford to give Jimmy Butler the max, that's the only reason why he left.
The Bulls, Wolves, and Sixers all moved on from Butler with friction about Butlers willingness to call out coaches and teammates in what most teams regard as non-ideal ways. If you can not figure out why that gets people attention, that is a you problem. Again, the Miami Heat deserve a tremendous amount of credit for getting the most of Butler and turning his personality and energy into a positive for the team.
