Saw in a recent thread that a lot of people had 93 MJ a tier below some other runs
What playoff runs would you take over 92 and 93 MJ?

I'd take 1990 and 1991 Jordan runs over these ones.

91 Jordan, 16 and 17 bron, 00 and 01 Shaq, might be missing a few

To add onto the above 09, 12, 18 Bron and maybe some others have arguments, 74 and 77 Kareem, 03 Duncan, 67 Wilt, 65-66 West, there a bunch of others that have arguments. None of this is definitive, just ones that I think have arguments.

MJ was self admittedly running on fumes through the '93 playoffs, he still put up great numbers of course but he had a couple better series than that.

Jordan: 89, 90, 91
Lebron: 09, 12, 16, 17
Shaq: 2000, 2001 maybe 2002
Wilt: 67, maybe 64
Hakeem: 94, 95
Bird: 84, maybe 86
Magic: 87
Duncan: 2003
Kareem: 74, 77
Russell: Idk, maybe 3-4 of his? Not sure.
Hard to make an argument for anyone outside of the top 10 I think.
Some may be surprised by such a list, but I don’t consider Jordan’s 92 and 93 playoff runs goat level like I do say 90 or 91.

Based on what . . . more dominant? More dramatic? More fun?

Haha more dominant, I usually see 88-93 lumped together as “prime MJ” but in 92 and 93 his playoffs slightly dropped off imo

Really...92 and 93 playoffs slight dropoff?
He had the 2nd highest scoring average series in history vs Miami. And in the Finals he outperformed Clyde who finished runner up?
In 93 he had the highest scoring average in terms of ppg for a title run and the highest Finals ppg average too?

Re: Playoff runs better than 92 and 93 MJ?
92 and 93 were higher scoring but 91 was his most dominant as he cruised through the playoffs with a 15-2 record and averaged 31ppg and 8apg.
