Since I think this will be debated a decent amount in the coming years as people make a case for Steph being top 10 all time and Hakeem is often put in that #10 spot but here is how I want to compare them. Top 5 regular seasons and then top 5 playoff runs. I'm doing these separate because quite often these two things don't line up and it creates a bit of confusion in how to compare two players. I'd also like to see feedback on how people perceive them in this way. So basically make two lists, both a top 5 and then put the player you see as having the better season first while comparing their top 5 for both. As an example:
rs
1. Steph 16 Hakeem 93
2. Hakeem 94 Steph 15
ps
1. Hakeem 94 Steph 22
So on and so forth.

RS
1. Steph 16 - Hakeem 93
2. Steph 21 - Hakeem 94
3. Steph 15 - Hakeem 95
4. Steph 18 - Hakeem 91
5. Steph 17 - Hakeem 90
PS
1. Steph 17 - Hakeem 94
2. Hakeem 95 - Steph 22
3. Stephen 15 - Hakeem 87
4. Hakeem 93 - Steph 18
5. Hakeem 97 - Steph 19
Very quickly. Maybe that's a bit biased towards Steph, but I really feel like he was the more impactful player in the RS consistently for his best seasons over Hakeem's. I think Curry was clearly better in the RS than Hakeem. He basically maintains that level in the playoffs, but Hakeem improves greatly in the playoffs compared to the RS.

I do appreciate the response though I wonder if you are underrating Hakeem's defensive impact while still being a very strong offensive anchor for a number of years. It's a difficult comparison to make though imo.

Wow my post just got erased. Simply put i’d generally put Curry as the better regular season player and Hakeem as the better playoff performer.

Potentially. I found it easier to compare their playoff runs.
