That depends on how much you like a Penny/Wade hybrid with superior strength. We are not worthy to witness such an epic matchup.

Jordan23Forever wrote:Jordan was most CERTAINLY stronger than you at 40. Dude was in NBA shape and had been lifting and working with the best personal trainers in the world for 15 years at that point. A man's strength peaks in his mid-late 30's, not his early-mid 20's (in contrast with speed/quickness, which peaks mid-20's).
I was squatting 400+, deadlifting 300+, and benching 300+, consistently during that time. That's nothing to sneeze about for athletes today, but at 40, MJ wasn't likely pushing that much weight. If he was, then maybe he was stronger.
I'm also not sure why you think I would have lost my quickness. Like I said earlier, I was good at track too, and pretty much all of us lifted heavy. It actually helps your speed if done right. Just look at a guy like Lebron whose big, and still lightning fast. Or even Shaq who was incredibly quick for a big guy early in his career. Quickness & speed is more about genetics, weight, and conditioning.

UBF = Kobe Bryant (Kobe's admitted he's really 6'4")
That would explain why he can't answer who'd win between the two. And why they're the same age.

The quotes I'm seeing are so good I'm having a hard time not taking him off my ignore list.
He's either a world class troller, Kobe Bryant or Charlie Sheen. Not sure which.

On the topic of the thread: I think by the time MJ's in his late fifties I'd be able to take him...maybe.
Why is it so important to everyone to prove to this Unbiased Fan Guy wrong about him being able to beat MJ? Is it really that serious? Couldn't that discussion have been dropped about six pages ago?

An Unbiased Fan wrote:1) I already said I had injuries, thus a railroaded basketball career.
Those injuries can't be that serious, if you really think you were able to beat a Jordan in 2003. If it is true what you are saying you are born in 1978, you were 24/25 in 2003. If you are 6'4'', as strong as you are claiming, as good as a shooter as you are claiming, as quick as you are claiming, you would have been at least playing professional basketball at that time. Injuries or not, someone with your body, strength, quickness and skills would be a challenge Anthony Parker for the Euroleague MVPs. Seriously, did you play professional basketball in your career? You just need to be honest to yourself.
An Unbiased Fan wrote:2) I already said that I have played NBA players, not just playground scrubs. For example, I could point out that Baron Davis is a friend of mine since back in the Crossroads days, and that I have beat him in 1 on 1 quite a few times since he's been in the league, but I don't think BD is that popular on RealGM.
Baron Davis is a freak athlete, strong and super skilled, he might be lazy a bit and sometimes pretty unmotivated, but he has the talent to be one of the best guards in the league. Beating Baron Davis is quite an accomplishment. Now, either your have the lowest basketball IQ ever or you are just making stuff up, because with your build you should be playing NBA basketball. Or, your injuries slowed you down, in that case you also wouldn't be able to win 1on1 against Jordan in 2003. And for sure you wouldn't dunk on him right now with 32.
You are underestimate how strong Jordan was in 2003. As he showed against the Nets he had no problem posting up Richard Jefferson, a guy bigger and stronger than you. Seriously, just read your own descriptions, it is either injuries, which means you weren't able to beat Jordan in an 1on1 in 2003 or you are overrating your own abilities. Otherwise you would have been a NBA player at this time. Heck, you pointed out Smush Parker playing in the NBA and you couldn't make it by using the injury excuse? It doesn't add up and I'm sure you know that.
Btw, I played semi-professional soccer when I was in highschool (which means I got a paycheck for playing soccer for a 4th division team in Germany, not a huge one obviously), I know what an injury can do. I didn't play with scrubs, I played with a guy for example who became later the captain of a 2nd division team (2. Bundesliga) and I was able to beat him several times in 1on1 situations too (due to quickness and stamina, not due to skills, the guy was much more skilled than me). But that doesn't mean I could have kept up with that level years later after those injuries. So, either you faced an injury which would have kept you out too much, which means you couldn't beat Jordan in 2003, or you never had the body, strength, quickness and skills to keep up with a motivated NBA player or you played professional basketball in 2003, which means you were probably able to beat Jordan once out of 10. Heck, in 2003 the amount of 6-4 players which were stronger, quicker than Jordan while being better 3pt shooters in the NBA are pretty much 0. Guys like Kidd or Buckner had a lot of trouble to keep up with Jordan's strength at that time. Just matching Jordan's strength is great for a 6-4, being quicker and a better shooter makes you a lock as a rotation player unless you don't have any skills (but that was covered by your previous claims).
It is not unreasonable to be a D1 player, pretty strong and quick with really good skills. Maybe even a starter, but those players with 6-4 are not a match for a Jordan type player even in 2003. The guy was able to push make a positive impact in the NBA, finished Top20 in APM, was killing the best defensive in the league. I know 1on1 skills are not necessarily a good indicator to make an impact in the NBA, otherwise Skip to my lou would have been a better NBA player, but even that guy, smaller, much weaker and obviously not as much suited as a NBA player like you (Alston would have been better with a Penny game) than you made $28m by playing basketball.

I think it's a bit silly some people here are so hellbent on proving AUF wrong, who cares, he's obviously lying, but man this post laid the smackdown hard.

The point is that I don't even think he is completely lying, maybe he added an inch to his height, maybe he remembered some of the stuff on the playground a bit too much in his favor, but it is not completely unreasonable to be a D1 college player in LA (even end of the rotation) and playing with some NBA players in the summer. I actually know one who done similar things, but he never claimed he had a great chance against better pro players in 1on1.

Re: How old would MJ have to be until you could beat him?
i don't doubt the D1 stuff at all. after all there are like 350 D1 basketball schools and each adds 3-5 guys to their respective squads every year. there are tens of thousands of "d1 basketball players" out there. however, the difference between a d1 basketball player and a nba draft hopeful is staggering. i mean, there were D1 players from Ivy leagues, even an ex-dukie playing for the Law School/Med School IM teams when i was in undergrad and my fraternity team would be able to beat them on occasion. however the legit stars like say... a greives vasquez, sean singletary, or gerald henderson would CRUSH a run-of-the-mill D1 player. needless to say, the difference between those college stars and a 40 year old MJ is even greater.

Haha, funny stuff. A guy who calls himself unbiased with a Skip Baylesss avatar thinks the greatest basketball player of all time has no chance against him. Lmao

we were born the same year, so for me it was 22. At least I'm pretty sure I would have won when he had a broken foot.

you can probably never beat Jordan at any age..even in a wheelchair, he'll just go special olympics on your ass
Kobe on the other hand, is beatable now:

He couldn't make a single bucket against a scrubby asian guy after about 5 attempts and you could tell he was trying hard too..driving to the rim on every possession and trying his best on D. The only time Kobe scores is when he luckily gets his own rebound and the asian guy is out of position. If the asian scrub could make a jumpshot, it would be all over. You have to wonder how much carrying Kobe's team really does for him..after all, they were doing better when he was out last season..and somehow they still win when he has atrocious games.
