Interesting. Shows what can be done when you don't have any other options, right? Arranging your game around your strengths and just running with it.
Giannis was a bleh FT shooter at just under 66%, no 3pt shot to speak of, no range outside of 10 feet, but set a career mark for percentage of his shots in the RA. And just HAMMERED it home. And he was a 64.9% TS guy, which is almost +7% rTS.
It's a shame he wasn't healthy for the playoffs. He's a beast. He is also a reminder that despite the way things look, there are guys out there who can get it done without having a ton of range in the modern environment. It's also a little bit of a commentary on the difference in shooting percentages around the rim in this era. Imagine 2000 Shaq with THIS level of spacing? Lillard, Bropez, Beasley, Middleton, Bobby Portis, he'd be just ALONE under the rim so much of the time, it's insane.
Giannis had 251 dunks this past season, the 2nd-most of his career. Shaq only reached 250+ three times in his career, it's pretty wild stuff.

Yea he played to his strength last season and cut down on his threes. It's better this way for him. Yea the ECF should have been Bucks vs Celtics. Shaq would have love this spacing and he was about average/slighty above with his passing.

Shaq was definitely an above average passer for his position. He was never to be confused with someone like Jokic or Sengun or whomever, but he made good, quick reads, played post/repost well and in general was pretty quick to move the ball. He'd be killing it today, limited primarily by his FT% as much as anything else.
