Having said that, it's pretty clear who most fans favor and understandably so. Whenever you have a guy like Griffin (a big, physically mature guy who's proven himself in college) you almost always will take him over perhaps a more skilled but physically less intimidating guy. A lot of this is subjective. Put up the same thread against Durant (sorry nothing personal but he just fits my example pretty well) and you get the same results. However, I bet most of your OKC fans would probably select him over Griffin (we don't see too many OKC fans offering him up in trade for the #1 pick do we?).

A lot of it is subjective and only in the case where specific need is involved, you might see otherwise. We tend to like our own players and those who are we most familiar with.

Oh please, nobody takes Griffin over Durant, you're full of sh*t.

Also, I don't see why you're comparing Randolph to Durant, they're totally different players. Durant is a WING, he plays on the PERIMETER, and has a ver polished perimiter game with an unreal jumper. Randolph has some nice handles, but he really does not have a polished perimiter game, and his jumper is nothing special. Randolph is a BIG, he plays down low. Being super-skinny is a HUGE disadvantage for a big, but is something that can definitely be overcome for a wing.

Durant averaged 26/6/3 on 48% shooting, 40% from 3 and go to the line 7 times a game. I wouldn't say he's better than Bosh now, but it isn't out of the world if someone thinks he is. Randolph right now is just a nice prospect with an uncommon skillset as a PF, he has much to prove before he can draw parallel with any star players.

Very disingenuous youtube clip. Yao trashed Randolph after that one dunk and had probably his best game of the season.

His second year, not his first. I already posted his numbers for his first year and they weren't those. Randolph's numbers on a per basis was better in some categories.

That's cause Durant's a pu**y and they'd break his a** in two if he wasn't afraid to mix it up with the big boys like Randolph is. Durant's perimeter game wasn't all that "polished" nor was it that "special" his first year either. Give Randolph another year or two and we'll see. As for how many would take Griffen over Durant, somehow if I remember correctly Durant was picked #2 when he was drafted. Who was it who was picked #1? Wouldn't have happened to be a big bruiser on the same order as Griffen would it?

Not disingenuous at all. Warriors were winning that game for 3 quarters when the officials got generous to the Rockets and fouled out both our centers (Biedrins and Turiaf). As a matter of fact, I don't even think Yao scored the entire first half until the officials started calling bogus fouls on our big men (Yao scored 17 of his points from the free throw line, lol). Randolph shot 6-8 that game in only 25 minutes which I'd wouldn't exactly call being trashed.

So you have now compared Griffin as a prospect to Greg Oden, and also claimed that Durant's perimeter game wasn't that polished in comparison to Anthony Randolph?

Definitely putting you on ignore.

I luv it when some guys when they can't provide an intelligent response either go on personal attacks or put people on ignore. Amazing. And btw who said that (bold)?

Rookie numbers means squat on how a player WILL turn out. There are plenty of rookies who had decent numbers that plateaued for the rest of their career, then there are those who didn't put up any numbers and remain in obscurity which is a majority of the prospects. It's more likely for Randolph to fall on either one of these category than becoming a 20/6 player.

I say the youtube clip is disingenuous because Yao had 33/14/5 and destroyed the Warriors inside, and you're posting that dunk clip like Randolph owned Yao in that game when nothing could be further from the truth.

If by bogus fouls you mean Yao for once getting the calls inside he deserves, then you'd be right.

I agree that Yao does get screwed on being fouled a lot, but not this game. All he had was 6 points in the entire first half and the Warriors were winning for 3 quarters (scored his 1st basket at 5:49 of the 2nd period). He only had 14 at the end of 3. He scored most of his points in the 4th quarter 19 (after both Turiaf and Biedrins were both fouled out, many of which were phantom calls). Going into the 4th, I thought that this one of the best games ever the Warriors ever had against Yao (both Biedrins and Turiaf were having excellent games as well). I say the refs destroyed the Warriors that game, not Yao imo.

The point of the video (actually all of them) was to show those people who earlier were claiming he's soft and too weak to play PF (also to show the ones who claim he's to skinny) that he's not afraid to mix it up inside (he even glared at Shaq one game). One of his most positive attributes is his fearlessness and even though he may not weight a lot, he's deceptively strong (see the one play against Utah where he was body-slammed by Boozer and he bounced right back up).

This is in comparison to guys like Wright (who has trouble banging inside) and even Durant (who I don't believe could take the pounding that AR seems to be willing to absorb). This was not intending to dis Yao (or Durant), it just shows that Randolph can take it to the hole against the best of them. Yet he also has the ball handling and passing skills to lead the fast break (which was also shown). The only thing he needs to work on is his outside shot (which improved immensely towards the end of the season).

The comparison to Durant HIS FIRST YEAR, NOT THIS ONE! was merely to show that he didn't really have his outside shooting down very well his first year (quite common for most rookies coming out of college).

The comparison between Griffin and Oden ends at them both being physical players. Oden is known for his defense first and foremost. Secondly, he has great size and athleticism as a center, not as a power forward so his potential to impact the game is much greater.

Doesn't Griffen (@ supposedly 6'10) play some Center (albeit a smaller than average one). Guys I can think of in that category who've been quite successful are Brand, Okafor, Wallace (Griffin is much better offensively), David Lee? My point being that Oden and Griffen are two dominant big men who essentially play inside. I think that Z-Bo started out at Center when he first came out with Portland.

Too bad Griffen will have to share minutes with Zach Randolph, that's going to suck.

no its definitely worse having to play with boom fizzle and snack randolph

at least he doesnt have to play with 35 year old "GAURANTEE MA MINUTES" yi and wince "SHOOT THE J!" harder though right?
Catchall:The Bucks traded him for Monta Ellis and did well in that trade. If they can move Biedrins and Jefferson without losing much more than Barnes and another pick, I will be genuinely impressed.Iguodala is a short-sighted contract. Overrated player.

Uh oh someone is jealous that the Nets have a much brighter future than their favorite team !

On a side note it's arguable that Vince Carter is better than every single player on the Warriors, at the very least he's EASILY more clutch than every player on the Warriors.
