My students just had their final exam today. After grading, I'll have 2 semesters off of coordination of the largest course in the university (hooray!) after two consecutive semesters of it. Time to ramp up the research profile!

I apparently am quite bad at self-promotion, though. I'm writing a small grant proposal and it makes me feel icky to say things like "with my expertise in developing extensions to point process models..." and "we WILL publish papers in at least 3 articles in high-profile peer-reviewed international statistics and allied journals".

Do Aussies know what the Sopranos is? It's a GOAT level show. You should watch it my friend though I'm not sure you guys have the mafia there and how culturally relevant it would be.

I'm now officially an Australian citizen, and while I know the show, I've never seen it. Then again, I haven't seen any of the Godfather movies, either.

Paulie Walnuts would not be happy with that statement.

I suppose I'm fortunate to be on the other side of the globe now. :o

Does anybody like the Locked On Jazz podcast by Utah play by play David Locke? Always found him to be one of the more unique basketball minds especially around draft and free agency time. Is going to have some podcasts with Ford, Givony and Pelton coming up between now and the draft I think
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

We're not stuck in 1981, mate. Of course we know what the Sopranos is. I've watched. Not GOAT level, but very good.

Really? Where you at? You have to go to the bushy areas. They've held up traffic many times before on my way to work, as they're slow to cross the roads. You wouldn't want to hit them, either. Big things.

Please, don't give me this 1981 crap. You guys still get your mail by dingos. I reserve the right to question everything.

AND YOU WHAT, MATE. It is absolutely a GOAT level show. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

So disrespectful.

Hey GOATbrook has at least been to the Finals unlike Chokep3 :P .

Seriously though, Sopranos is a GOAT level show. I don't see how it's not. If you don't like it that much that's fine but I think most would agree with me ;).

For me it's Breaking Bad, Wire, Sopranos and GoT. I am sure there is a show or two that belongs here as well but this is just a list of GOAT level shows that I have seen.

Northwest, near Kellyville. No wombats yet, though my students have told me to go to Newnes to see them.

Where are you such that wombats amaze on your way to work?!

You've gone too far now. Apologise.

It's a very good show. In my rudimentary system, which i've just developed 5 seconds ago, i give it a 7.5-8. Better than most shows, easily.

GOAT level though, for me, are shows which a 9 and above. Wire, GoT etc.

Still haven't watched Breaking Bad *hides*.

Come on, watch BB. It's amazing.

Honestly, for me Sopranos is better than GoT. I like GoT but it's still a fantasy show based on books (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Sopranos and GoT both have their share of bad actors (Khaleesi, AJ) and a few episodes which weren't as good but I'd rank Sopranos better than GoT.

I've seen Breaking Bad and really liked it, but I don't think I'd put it in my top 10. Then again, I'm a bit of a weirdo.

REally OT--- my father-in-law is wanting to try some Vegamite after I mentioned hearing a report of the world's ten worst foods including it. Should I discourage or encourage him from doing so?

I'm a really, really bad TV watcher. I can't have multiple shows on the go at once. I missed the start of BB and never put the time into it to catch up.

I am sure it's great and that i will love it, but usually when i get home, i cbf thinking, which is absurd, nor can i be bothered watching something and having to concentrate.

Usually, i get home from work, make dinner, get my lunches sorted, have the TV going in the back ground with some random crap whilst i'm on here posting / watching NBA games.

I'm the type of person that only has a couple of hobbies, and within those, they take up the majority of my time.

One day, i'll get around to it.

My grandmother used to put Vegemite on toast. I wouldn't encourage anyone to eat Vegemite. I'd suggest a very small amount if he still wants to try it.

I am kinda like you too. I usually watch shows after they are off the air so they can binge watch. Most of the shows I have watched have been binge watched except for GOT right now and the very last season of Breaking Bad.

I too am kind of a bad TV watcher as I hate waiting for new episodes every week and setting time aside to watch the episode. It's much better to set a day or two aside and go HAM binge watching lol IMO.

I haven't watched a full show in years and really gotten into it. I'm too much of a sports junkie. Other than occasional cooking competitions, just don't do it.

Yeah, I'm not a huge TV guy, although there are a few shows that I have loved. Much more into music.
