The scary thing is, he's exactly the kind of guy who can keep clanking these for a full playoff run.

Forget championship, Lakers won't even win this series with LeBron back to looking like what he had shown most of the season. Simply doesn't possess the requisite scoring ability. That break was curtains for LA's season. LeBron at his age needs 50+ games to look like LeBron.

These guys make off the dribble threes and the Lakers can't make spot up threes.

Lillard’s range is just absurd. This series is going to be hard to win with him playing like this.

I think he shoots even better from deep range than Steph.

As unimpressive as LeBron has looked, he’s not their main problem. This team is shooting under 20% from three. Vogel is spotting the other team points at the beginning of each half with a clearly bad lineup. And let’s be honest - Dame is hitting half court threes. The whole thing is is a recipe for disaster.

Shocking if you make open shots you win the game.

LeBron played very well but my god the Lakers need to shoot something from outside. This is unexcusable.

Bron doesn't often lose trust in his shooters but if he's not passing to DG in this situation, it's looking rough.

His scoring ability doesn't exist in a vacuum though. The Lakers are playing big lineups and the perimeter shooting is abysmal. The Ray Allen/Mike Miller/James Jones/Channing Frye/Kyrie Irving/Kevin Love/JR Smith, etc. spacing we're accustomed to the last decade just isn't there.

3 point shooting is certainly a major problem, but 23 points on 20 shots from your best player is simply not going to cut it in the playoffs. If LeBron was still a 30+ scorer with superstar ability to create consistent offense (ala top players on other contenders), Lakers would've won this game.

Oh and Rondo is about to be back in the rotation.

I think this is good though. Both #1 seeds lost. Goes to show if they dont bring it they can lose to anyway in the bubble.

He does. 2016 is the only Steph season where he shot 30+ft 3s well and Dames blows his away

Lol AD had an abysmal game. I think there's a lot that had to go wrong with the Lakers and right for the Blazers. Not really all that worried. This kind of adversity is perfect for a championship run

Lakers shot 5-32 from 3. I think that’s the wake up call they needed. Lebron is usually weird in game 1s. Hope he comes out more aggressive next game

I understand the team shooting was terrible but LeBron can’t look this unremarkable as a scorer if they plan on doing anything in these playoffs. He’s being guarded by Gary Trent Jr and CJ McCollum and he still scored just 23 on 49% TS. He looked like he only wanted to score the ball if it was the absolute last resort. If that’s the case against Portland how he is going to score against LAC, Toronto, or Milwaukee?

LeBron was getting denied at the rim a lot this game. I remember in the 2012 playoff run he used a floater when he got into the lane that was very effective, almost specifically designed to deal with Hibbert. But I never saw him use it again tbh.

Wonder why. Feel like he could have gone to a floater multiple times instead of trying to attack Whiteside so much.
