Honestly it was all probably just a PR play so when we get JJ and Borrego as an assistant it doesn't seem like we didnt try for something better

I do hope Bron walks though and makes 1 last dominant team

If he was to go to PHI with PG. that would be pretty sick. But got to rely on Embiid's health

Cle could be a contender with him, but have to move around some pieces

NY would be cool too

But in reality I think hes sticking to the the west coast or CLE

I dont see him leaving for GS

I dont see it being the Clips or Kings

Suns are the wild card, but in reality its LA or CLE

120% should go to Cleveland and play two years more there, hopefully with Bronny, before hanging 'em up.

Even a 10% chance of winning one more in his hometown at the age of 40+ is too much of a narrative boost to pass up.

I also think the huge Mobley/Allen frontcourt gives him the best chance of revenge at Jokic if they happen to meet in the Finals.

Could have stuck with Vogel, thanks captain hindsight.

More like should’ve hired Ty Lue like your superstar wanted instead of cheaping out and wanting to flex that you’re the ‘boss.’

I've never agreed with the downplaying of coaching in the NBA, but I'd argue that the new CBA makes it even more important. You can't just slap a bunch of names together anymore or else you'll end up in second-apron hell pretty quickly. A coach who can develop players and run a system that gets the most out of everyone on the roster is going to be an absolute necessity going forward. How "quality" a roster is will increasingly depend on how much the coach can get out of it.

Hurley has proven himself as that kind of coach. In contrast, JJ Redick has done nothing but flap his lips on a podcast. I can't see him lasting any longer than any of the Lakers' other coaches post-Phil.

I look at Bostons 3-5 and I see Jrue Holiday, Derrick White and Kristaps Porzingis. Even if their top two aren’t near Lebron and ADs caliber, their 3-5 is streets ahead and that’s what makes them stand out when compared to everyone else who can be beaten in a 7 game series, depending on luck and match ups.

You can’t have a bad coach but at the same time coaching impact in a league where teams rarely practice gets a little overstated. Redick is a complete unknown but I think even someone like Kenny Atkinson is perfectly fine so long as the roster does not have glaring holes.

Pelinka has a lot to show but what he does in trades to make the supporting cast more robust matters far more than what he does with a coaching hire.

So long as you don’t go any deeper and bring up Byron Scott.

LeBron going to LA was a very disappointing decision. I understand why he did it, but he’s been good enough during this period to have won multiple titles. It sucks that winning isn’t his top priority, but hey it’s his life. Maybe he’ll shock us all and go to a well-run franchise to finish his career. Maybe.

Idk if Allen or Mobley are thick enough for Gobert, also not enough shooting

Plus Allen and filler likely moves out to even get Bron in a S&T (no way Bron takes the mle)

Getting a stretch big like Lopez, Turner, Reid, etc next to Mobley though would be great. Or even a guy like Olynyk.

And something like Garland for Bridges+salary?

Mitchell, Bridges, Lebron, Mobley, Stretch big

Sign Cp3 to come off the bench. Still should have 1 of Levert or Strus off the bench hopefully.

- Butler wanted to be on Lakers but Pelinka held out for Kawhi
- Lakers has a championship team anyway and then broke it apart because Pelinka felt like he could improve the team
- Caruso goes for nothing and it is still killing the team
- Kyrie could have been traded for but Pelinka didn't want to pay enough
- Lue was keen on LA but Lakers gave him a cheap deal

So many opportunities for 3-4 rings in 5 seasons. At least they got 1 but damn this has been disappointing.

Guards: CP3 ($8m BAE), Reaves ($13m), Caruso ($10m)
Forwards: LeBron ($51m), Prince ($5m), Vando ($11m)
Bigs: Davis ($43m), Stretch big (<$20m)

Rest of team can be a mix of 7 vets and rookies ($17m)

Vincent+17 for Caruso
Sign CP3 to $8m using MLE
Rui trade for stretch big

Is Cp3 worth the mle? Wonder if he could be had for the vet min?

We do need a stretch big, but who is realistic?

If we are going for Caruso, should be moving Vando

Moving Rui absolutely needs to be atop the priority list this summer. Absolute garbage. But I doubt Pelinka does that. He considered acquiring him his coup de grace.
