He did it to himself by going to a 1st rate franchise with many established names when he could have built up a franchise with no history. Now he's just another Laker who is oft-injured like Bynum.

Lakers are also fortunate that this is the first of the major deadline trades so they can alter around Doncic instead of being the final trade on Thursday and having to rely on the buyout market.

AD also checked out after winning that title. If AD played every week like he played the last two weeks Lakers would be the ones asking for picks. Teams overvalue their stars and AD just didn't bring it enough to make the front office crazy about his worth.

This is a guy who can give you 40 and play like a DPOY on the same night being traded with Max, best young player on bargain deal and it's being called a fleece. AD has some serious self searching.

Absolutely worth it.

I suppose Lakers need to keep Vincent unless they can find another guard defender. Hope we don't see Reddish make a return.

However there is one downside. Rob keeps his job for a long time despite being absolutely atrocious

LeBron's time with the Lakers is coming to an end. No longer his team.

Him and Luka is maybe the worst basketball pairing I can think of in terms of on court skillsets, and LeBron is clearly not a very good player at this point. The Lakers made this trade for the next 7+ years of prime Luka, but they're going to suck this year. They have no intention of LeBron being part of their Luka plan now, and I can't blame them. Love the guy, but he's not worth it any more.

Going to shower after saying it but to be fair to Rob and Lakers patience was why the deal was possible. If he had consolidated all their assets to go pursue a Lavine he could still do the deal on paper but it would be impractical both financially and on the court with nowhere to go. Call it blind luck but I wouldn't have had the patience to wait for blind luck to fall in my lap. His real job starts with how he rounds out the rest of the roster.

RW3 would be as good as Kessler on the Lakers. Its just his health isn't as good so he's a ton cheaper.
