I think Rose peaks as a 2nd tier star (Deron Williams, Brandon Roy level) whereas Wall has a chance to enter the top tier. (Thats not to say he definitely will, but I can certainly see it happening).

I agree 100 percent but we are working with a very small sample size for John Wall. John Wall in 3 games is setting records and doing things very few rookies have done in NBA history but he will cool down some when Arenas returns. Rose has already been an all-star, been to the playoffs twice, and stepped up in the Playoffs. For right now I have to go with Rose, he is the better player. If i'm picking for the future I would go with Wall because he has amazing court vision. Both are great talents and us Wizards and Bulls fans are lucky to have them on our teams.

Derrick Rose has already outplayed John Wall once . Even though it was just pre season .

Did you read the question or just stop at the title?

The question is who will have the best NBA career?

Well if that's the question then you have to go with Rose. The Bulls are farther along the Championship trail than the Wizards. Everyone loves winners and the Wizards won't be winners for a while.

Gotta love these early season sample sizes. Last year about this time people were taking Brandon Jennings over Rose (now and for the future!) because of 55 points and that he had *it*

Wall has been good so far, but any further forecasting is quite premature.

If you think Rose is better fine, but please enough of the Brandon Jennings argument. Jennings has none of the physical gifts Wall has. He just went on an insame shooting streak to start the season. Nothing like what Wall is doing.

i think it's a cointoss, really. if you have strong feelings one way or another, there's some sort of agenda. i totally understand why CHI fans are defensive though. i wouldn't like it if next year kyrie irving comes in and people start annointing him as the next GOAT pg. AND hes a dookie. bahhhh...

True, and I think that's a pretty valid point. But then again, Brandon Jennings is definitely not the prospect that Wall is.

I'm going Wall. Fastest player I've seen since Iverson. The guy is a blur. Rose a great athlete, Wall is a freak.

Q: Who would you rather have sex with? Jessica Alba or Michelle Rodriguez?

Bomb_First: Since I'd rather have sex with Jessica Alba, I will go with Jessica Alba.

edit: I think Wall will be better by a hair because of his defense. Both are absolutely amazing though.

According to their combine numbers, Rose is faster and jumps higher, in addition to being substantially stronger. Define freak?

I'm lumping speed/quickness in one. And Rose may of gotten a faster time in the 3/4 sprint, but Wall looks faster with the ball to me.

James White can dunk really good too. Guess this makes him a good basketball player.

Wall is going to be the better player. In fact, Wall is just as good as Rose right now and Wall is 19 years old. Not a knock on Rose though because Wall will eventually be a top 2 PG in this league.

Yeah John Wall is 20 my bad.

And Derrick Rose is my favorite player in the NBA but John Wall is averaging 24 and 10 as a rookie and he's playing better defense than Rose to boot. It's not out of the realm to say he's just as good as Rose right now.

According to the combine numbers, Sean May is faster than Chris Paul. According to the combine numbers Sonney Weems bitch slaps the rest of the league in the speed dept. Trevor Booker timed out faster than Deron Williams. Combine numbers mean virtually nothing when the ball is in a player's hands it seems (at least it doesn't seem to tell the whole story.)

Also, you are getting a lot of mileage out of that one inch vertical advantage Rose recorded at the combine, which Wall more than makes up for with an extra 1.5 inches of height, and 3 inch advantage in standing reach. Not to mention the fact that Rose said himself that he has lost 3 inches off of his vertical since entering the league through general wear and tear (the same will happen to Wall in a few seasons, I'm just pointing what he said out since you seem to fetishize vertical measurements.)

Rose is stronger though, I won't argue that point (although Wall is a solidly put together 196 pound guy, so that advantage might be reduced after a few seasons in an NBA weight program.)

Wall might be faster, but keep in mind Rose is more massive. The question is if Wall can be as fast as Rose at the same muscle mass.

I get a chance to watch Derrick Rose on a nightly basis and I've noticed in college and so far this season that John Wall is definitely faster than Rose in the open court.
