To say he's a "Superstar" is to say there's about 30 superstars in the NBA.

That's more on the coach than it is on Harden. James plays solid D, it just so happens that we have one of the best perimeter defenders in the league.

Harden >> Sefolosha

If he was on pretty much any other team Id bet he would start.

Harden's shot chart is amazing:

Pick him from the drop down menu.

Harden obviously took the advice that "the midrange shot is the least efficient shot in the game" to heart  He's attempted like 20 mid range shots all year.

No wonder he has nearly a 70 ts% and a OffRtg of 130

he also took the "don't turn the ball over" advice to heart.

I still think if he were to be the #1 option on a team, he would struggle to get good looks in crunch time. At least right now.

30 games in and his TS% is hanging around .653 without a decrease in volume. 19.5/4.7/4.0 per 36 on .653 TS% is pretty damn good.

Down to 3rd in ORTG and 4th in Offensive Win Shares though, partially because his turnovers are up a bit.

And he's still drawing an outrageous number of Free Throws.

I think it should be obvious to everyone that James Harden isn't going to fall off. This isn't like BJ Mullens where he just had 10 good games, this is actually how good Harden is

He's an awesome player, though .65 TS% is a bit high. As mentioned like all of his shots are inside or outside, which is good but unfeasible if you're a #1 option who's expected to take the shots when the shot clock is winding down and you need to make a play

If on his own team I'm guessing that volume gets up to 20ppg+ but his efficiency is hanging around .56-.59

This guy must read RealGM his efficiency is crazy

10 games later, Harden at .654 TS% after pasting the Bobcats for a career-high 33 last night. His relatively modest USG% keeps him out of the Top 10 in PER though. Still Top 5 in OWS and WS/48.

+/- likes him as well. At least his offense. There's some noise there, because I don't think he's nearly as poor of a defender as it seems to think. For example, the starting lineup with Harden is 21 points better offensively than the starting lineup with Sefolosha, but 21 points WORSE defensively. So that doesn't seem to be indicative of their play, just some statistical noise. The starting lineup with Cook is 20 points worse offensively and 6 points better defensively. There are also plenty of decent defensive lineups with Harden in, just the stark contrast of the starting lineup is messing everything up.

I think he would be a really good second option on a big man based team.

Harden is an above average defender. Brilliant offensive player. Top 10 SG no doubt, best young SG.

Good player, his 1on1 defense is suspect. But he can play good team defense just like Manu
Stop being so disrespectful.

This season, Harden currently owns the highest TS% of any non-big man with 20+ USG since 1979.

Kinda makes you wonder why he's only getting 32 minutes per game.

That's about the most that's possible when you come off the bench.

It's also only 3 minutes less than Westbrook.

Three more minutes for a player like James Harden is better than three less, in my opinion. I understand the bench rationale, but I want my best guys out on the court more, especially when they're young and can handle it.

3 mins over 60 games... makes what type of difference?

I am sure in the playoffs he will get more mins... so it is kinda trivial at this point to nip pick that.
