this one? no way, he was a lot worse the other night , 1/10 shooting three.
He was dumb this game to commit those fouls but in no way he played bad. Just a normal game for him and scored big in the 4th,.

They keep winning, but quietly the Warriors defense has been crap for a while now. They've fallen all the way to 8th in defensive rating. Long season, you go through peaks and valleys (plus a couple injuries haven't helped) but you do worry about straying from good habits and cutting corners.....

On another note I really hope Steph gets to 400 threes this year. Going to cut it close...

They play at a really fast pace, it's not surprising that their defense is starting to take a dive.

Reg season can get boring for great teams and defense takes a lot more effort than offense to maintain at a high level. The Warriors know they can get away with outscoring teams right now so the defense has slipped. I expect them to get it back to their usual level for the playoffs

Barnes really has very limited impact on the court and they desperately want Iggy back to play small ball again. Warriors bench is really thin right now, we cant ask Mo freaking Speights to save us every night

Anderson Varejao has been just about as bad as Speights defensively, and Speights has been getting more playing time. Its a layup line when those guys are in. I think I saw lineup with Varejao, Speights, Barbosa, Barnes, and Livingston in at one point to end the third - only one above average defender in the bunch.

Isn't it strange how warriors dominate games in a style that so different from the other GOAT teams in the history of the NBA? Normally you see elite teams shut down other teams while maintaining a consistent firepower offensively but with warriors, they are trying to blow you up from the first minute. If Curry's in his normal form, they are putting up those mini runs that few teams can match up with. And if Curry is in a slump, they are still moving the ball well but you just miss the big punch and oftentimes take the consequence of unable to grind games out.

I am starting to believe this team is more depended on one star than any other GOAT team in the history of the game. Curry is amazing but I am really interested to see how they will adjust when there are two players following Curry from the start to finish. If the warriors do not see it coming, they will be punished hard.

Interesting thing about Curry from a draft position perspective: Picked at #7, he's got a super high all-time ceiling of any guy who didn't go #1-3. Jordan at #3, but then the rest of the top 10 is pretty much all #1 picks. Bird at #6 is an interesting comparison - both guys aren't physical phenoms and dominated with skill, both all-time greats who fell in the draft. KG and Kobe are also in that conversation, but that was becaue they came out of HS. And at this point I'm not putting either of their peaks above Curry.

Also they don't have the best SRS in the league, nor Expected Win Loss at the moment either. So San Antonio could certainly beat them in a series and was a series that I wanted to see last year as well.

I know it's the Knicks, but no thread bump from yesterday?

Anyway, Stephen Curry now has 23 career games with 8 or more made threes. Only one other person in history has even done it 10 times. Oddly enough, that other guy is JR Smith with 14 such games to date.

Draymonds defense on Porzingis in their 2 contests has been insane. It's as if he relishes trying to crush the rooks spirit. Relentlessly. He blocked a Porzingis jumper last night, not sure how many times that has happened this season but I can't recall seeing that happen this year and I watch the Knicks a fair amount

The winning thing makes it hard for me to get too concerned. When great teams typically coast, it's what causes them to fail to win 60 games. If the Warriors can control the game so well that even in coasting they can break the all-time wins record, that's just scary to me.

The thing that gets underrepresented in Curry's ascendence to GOAT level is that he became a dual threat on the perimeter. He was pretty much always this good at 3 pt shooting; it's when he became adept at punishing overplaying him out there by being able to cut and finish at an elite level that he reached MVP status.

I love the Curry's 3s like everyone else, but his ability to finish at the rim is what makes him Steph Curry as we know him, ironically.

When Steph is on the floor vs when he is not

For reference Curry himself is 23.6 TSA on 68.1 TS%

TSA's per 36 minutes and TS%

With

Green 12.3 TSA on 57.2 TS%
Thompson 19.5 TSA on 60.4 TS%
Bogut 7.6 TSA on 60.7 TS%
Barnes 11.4 TSA on 57.0 TS%
Iguodala 7.9 TSA on 59.4 TS%
Rush 9.4 TSA on 68.3 TS%
Ezeli 14.0 TSA on 56.6 TS%
Livingston 7.9 TSA on 68.9 TS%
Barbosa 11.9 TSA on 57.4 TS%
Speights 22.1 TSA on 47.1 TS%

Without Curry

Green 14.1 TSA on 55.1 TS%
Thompson 22.4 TSA on 55.7 TS%
Bogut 8.6 TSA on 63.0 TS%
Barnes 13.7 TSA on 52.9 TS%
Iguodala 9.5 TSA on 54.6 TS%
Rush 10.4 TSA on 42.3 TS%
Ezeli 12.5 TSA on 55.8 TS%
Livingston 10.9 TSA on 54.3 TS%
Barbosa 14.9 TSA on 53.1 TS%
Speights 22.6 TSA on 50.0 TS%

And all together it's 61.9 TS% with and 53.5 TS% without, a 8.4 TS% raise when he's on the floor

Also right now he's at +912 with 15 games left, only needs +4.5 to get jordan's 980 record and +5.9 to break 1000, looking likely now
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

This friggin guy..... I don't even know what to say anymore. He's just incredible. Beyond incredible. Forget the buzzer beater for a second, what about the catch and shoot three before that where the ball was in his hands for like a tenth of a second as he rushes it to beat the closing Mavs defender

Dirk at center has to be annoying as hell to deal with. If they had a legit pick and roll guard better than Barea/ Felton this team would be absolutely unstoppable.
