I'm not interested in giving a player's accomplishments to another player. Kareem played the games he played, and he played them extremely well and a heck of a lot more of them than almost anyone else.

Maybe so but it doesn't put him a tier above others when he isn't the best player on the team that is the point.

I am not a major Lebron fanboy, but to state his not a top 5 GOAT is just hating on him. He has made mistakes, had some failures but what he has achieved so far in regards to dominance and results, there is no denying it

LeBron's peak a tier above Kareem's? I don't see it. Kareem's best years (71, 74, 77, 80) aren't far off from LBJ's (09, 12, 13, 16). I don't have a problem with folks saying LBJ is better than Kareem for peaks, but a tier is a bit much. And besides, Kareem was still very much an effective offensive player in his 17 and 18th seasons in the league (though not quite the defender and rebounder, obviously). To attribute that solely to Johnson seems a bit disingenuous, especially considering Kareem's style of play.

I'm curious, who are your top 5 in order at this point?

MJ
Russell
Kareem
Lebron/Magic/Duncan

Since Magic won with a team that had already won a title, shouldn't he be below Duncan and LeBron by your criteria?

MJ
KAJ
LBJ
Russ
Duncan
Magic

That's my immortal 6 as of now. LBJ can catch KAJ, I don't see him catching MJ on my list though.

Anyone else disappointed that LeBron did not complete that dunk on Draymond? If he did, that would easily be his career highlight. That would also surpass any MJ highlight. No one can top dunking on the DPOY face in Game 7 to close out an improbable 3-1 comeback vs the greatest regular season team in history.

I'm so disappointed by that that. It would've been the iconic play of his career. What a shame.

It would have been awesome if he completed that dunk.

I would take Jordan's steal + the go ahead mid range shot over that play without a doubt though.

1. Bulls down by 1, 21 seconds to go, Utah's ball. Smart play by Jordan on defense to get the steal on Malone, who was having a great game (31/11/7 on .65 TS%)

2. The go ahead mid range shot with 5 seconds left

Definitely disappointed. It's such a great exclamation point. To steal the championship away and dunk over the guy you feuded with the during the series.

LeBron blocking Steph and talking smack at him in Game 6 (I think he said "MVP?") was also great, knowing he ended up winning the series.

I'm satisfied with the goat clutch block on Iggy.

I still think the stage was bigger for LeBron's play than MJ's play. MJ also stole the ball from a Power Forward, while LeBron dunked on the DPOY.

Draymond ensured Bron wasn't finishing that. Maybe younger LBJ crowns him but that was a very difficult finish.

Utah hung Malone out to dry on that play by not communicating, but Malone was crap in the second half of that game, Rodman toasted him.

Even if he made that play his block on iggy is his goat play pretty easily for me. Just amazing, especially when you watch the clock in slow motion and see how much ground he covered in no time.

Here is the deal Kareem was best player in the league longer than any other player 70-80. Titles not the end all be all. Lakers gave up 4 rotation players for Kareem had to trick Jazz and Cavs to get replacement. But Lebron has been best since 2009. 3 ships 4 mvps and two different team lottery bound after he leaves

I think LeBron was arguably the best in 2008 as well.
