I think they will be much better than people think. LeBron with a lessened offensive load is scary to think about.

Problem is unless they make another trade, this team has virtually no shot to win it all this year. Their defence wouldn’t be able to stop a college team.

For the lakers, having Luka long term was a no brainer. Not sure it gives lebron a better shot to win a title this year or next.

Jaxson Hayes should be playing in China not the lakers

I am still presuming the Lakers bring in another player of impact.

Maybe I am wrong though.

I think Rui+LAL31FRP for Duren is the trade I'd do.

Get the young roll man center with defense.
Get under apron to start signing buyout players over that earned over 12m this season.

Reaves has become a baller

I know I said I'd consider trading him, but you can't trade him for a bag of peanuts

Might be worth keeping him

Reaves isn't going anywhere. People are like they should trade him for a big now with Luka/LeBron here, as if LeBron ain't gonna be out within a couple of years. Reaves is a future AS and will make for a good sidekick to Luka.

Defensively, Lebron/Reaves' baseline level is probably similar to Kyrie/Klay but they have a much higher ceiling. In high leverage games Lebron can actually be a plus defender.

They also has guys like Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford cleaning up the glass and protecting the rim. The Lakers don't have an inside presence.

Also, LeBron and Luke don't move on defense. Top 5 slowest players on defense in the NBA (minimum 20 MPG):

1. James Harden
t2. Chris Paul
t2. Nikola Jokic
4. Luka Doncic
t5. LeBron James
t5. Joel Embid

Luka and LeBron are going to have to work a lot harder on defense than they are used to.

Good point. I think with Lebron, though, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It is what it is. Luka could possibly be reinvigorated and start moving and playing better defense? Maybe? That has been my concern since the trade. The perimeter defense is already weak and they traded away the great interior defense to help cover up for it. There has to be more trade(s) for the Lakers.

Haha really? Talk about using a verse out of context :P

So do we keep Rui?

Switch more often

The nice part is we don’t have to be as desperate anymore

Can we waive Kieff btw?

Dorian and Vando are the ideal role players youd want on a team w/ Luka and 40yo Bron.............long, athletic versatile defenders that can guard almost anyone. Dorian a sniper Vando cant shoot but hes one of the best offensive rebounding wings and he can be a non shooter w/ Bron, Luka, Reaves, Dorian on the floor. Lakers just need that big and they are a serious problem w/ Reaves as the 3rd option too

LeBron really has an issue with Kawhi since the LA move. He seems to bring his A game constantly - and dare I say it, he’s kind of dominated the matchup.

I’m completely bought in on JJ at this point. While LeBron setting the tone is huge the last 7 quarters, the way Redick has this team playing and in sync defensively is tremendous to see. Consequently, we’re also seeing his offense flowing a lot better because they’re running vs stagnating.

Part of it is also the fact that with no AD, they want to play faster it seems.

While Lue’s Clippers are 13-3 vs the Lakers, yeah I’d say LeBron has dominated Kawhi in the matchups generally.

I never want to hear about how Kawhi is this tremendous player again. That narrative should have died 2 years ago and persisted.

Bron entering his 5th prime….

Why wont there be?

He will get a ton of open 3s, a solid catch and shoot and still a big body who can switch a bit

I dont see how Knecht really fits in

He has some potential honestly and I think he will only get better from here, but not sure how he can play defensively with Luka, Bron, and Reaves

Would Detroit want Knecht and Wood (if they value a spacing 5 at all) for Duren?

Maxi+2nd+swap for 1-2 guys who can give us some depth.

Would the cavs move Okoro if they could get a guy like Cam Johnson?
