Lakers versus Nuggets (2020)

LeBron: 28.7 PPG - 6.3 RPG - 11.7 APG - 56.0 TS% (3 games)
Davis: 29.3 PPG - 9.3 RPG - 2.3 APG - 61.7 TS% (4 games)
Jokic: 16.3 PPG - 5.8 RPG - 5.8 APG - 61.9 TS% (4 games)
Murray: 18.5 PPG - 3.8 RPG - 5.8 APG - 54.2 TS% (4 games)

The Lakers won three of their four encounters this season. The only one that the Nuggets won was when LeBron sat.

This feels like a 5-game or 6-game match-up to me. The Lakers have the two best players - particularly when factoring in defence - and the Nuggets falling behind 3-1 in both series should raise some red flags about their capacity to go all the way. The Nuggets haven't managed to slow LeBron or Davis at all.

If Lakers go up 2-1, I don't even know if I want to win game 4. 3-1 seems like a death sentence against these guys.

Maybe in normal situations. The Bat from China that caused Covid could play an impact.

HeartBreakKid? The Celtics fan here?

Nah HBK was that massive Kawhi fan on here who kept saying his run last year was better than any of Lebron's.

That alone would've been Ok. Dude just kept saying idiotic stuff like Kawhi would maintain his 32 PER and 8 apg, His playmaking would make the Clips the best offense in the league, he wouldn't load manage, and of course my favourite, that Tim Duncan was selfishly holding Kawhi back in 2015 and 2016. The sheer nerve

He said A LOT of dumb ****. Dunno what happened to him over here but he migrated to insidehopps and fit right in.

To be fair though, one of the Lakers wins was in OT and another win was on a difficult Kuzma buzzer-beater. Could've very easily been 3 Nuggets wins.

Good luck AD.

Seconded.

I'm assuming 5 games every series from now on.

This series will become the showdown of the ultimate meme teams this year. The 0-1 2020 Lakers vs the 3-1 2020 Nuggets. Game 7 type atmosphere right there when it gets to Game 5 lmaoo.

I'm interested in seeing what AD does vs Jokic in crunch time. Big Honey ain't seen a defender with that combo of size and nimbleness esp late in the game when legs are dead.

I wonder if Denver feels like the book is out on Lebron being pressed full court by someone like say Gary Harris the same way Gary Trent Jr was able to sap his stamina bar for stretches. I think this will be another series where the Lakers need AD to be the best player on the floor and basically having to contain both Murray AND Jokic when they begin their endless waltz.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Almost convinced it is.

Low post count and the join date.

Talks the way I think AD would on a forum.

I don’t want to be overconfident, but I feel really good about this matchup. Jamal Murray is great, but they were able to stop Dame and Harden relatively easily. We have the size to deal with Jokic on both ends of the floor. LeBron is rested because the team, unlike his Cleveland teams, can maintain leads without him, and Denver has to be gassed after going 7 in back to back rounds. I’m predicting LA in 6.

Don't think Harden was really stopped.

He had a TS of 66%.
