Imagine Randolph is getting hyped up this much for what he has done so far and pure speculations.

Imagine if Beasley was drafted for Warriors instead. Wow, I can't even imagine what warriors fans would do coz Beasley has easily been better so far. They would be calling Beas a surefire HOFer and would call everyone crazy including Heat fans for pumping up Randolph's value (if Heat drafted Randolph instead).

They're already calling Randolph a HOF'er

Not really. We have a huge propensity to bag on our players and Beasley's lack of defense and passing would surely leave him taking heat. This is Oakland we're talking about here. GSW fans as a whole haven't been hyped on a player like this in a long time.

They hype their players up every single year until they wind up disappointing. Wright, Morrow, Ellis, AB are just recent examples that are still on their team.

Hey oh!

What do the Nets have to do with this comparison? Why is it that whenever somebody disagrees with something somebody else says they have to bring up something negative against that persons favorite team or player? (EX: Bringing up the Nets success/Beasley)

^ TRUTH ^

I have respect for most G-State fans, but they do have this tendency to pimp out any young player they have like he's the second coming of Kobe Bryant.

I have much disdain for Kobe Bryant.

But I hear you. Hey, can you blame us really though?

All you guys arguing for Beas really haven't seen Randolph play an entire game. Admit it. You guys haven't seen him play at all huh?

Where most of us on the West coast have seen Beasley play.

He was measured at 6'9 and 6'10.25, Warriors rounded DOWN and listed him as 6'10.

Beasley was measured at 6'7 and 6'8.5... Miami rounded UP.

Let me say that again, Warriors rounded DOWN and Miami rounded UP.

After that, we have reports of growth, like we hear about EVERY young player every single year, yet rarely do they grow, excuse our skepticism.

Give me an example of a player that was hyped for growing and didn't? Mike Dunelavy was 6'4 coming out of high school and he's 6'9 now. What's wrong with a young guy growing?

It's stupid to even use the shoe measurement, because guys show up to the camp in padded shoes that they most likely would never ball in adding 1-2 inches. Take the shoeless height, go from there.

I agree 100%

We already had a Beasley like player on our team and we traded him to the Knicks. He was a 6'9 player that could shoot. He wasn't very good passer, he wasn't a very good rebounder and he wasn't a very good defender but he was athletic. Feet to slow to play small forward and not long enough to play PF. Nelly hated his style of play just like he would hate Beasleys. He's a very good player, but not a Nelly player.

I also forgot to mention that Beasley outperformed Randolph on all the physical tests also.

Yeah, he really out performed him in these categories. And I'm sure all the new muscle Randolph has added since then wouldn't help him either.

Max Vert
Randolph 35'
Beasley 35'

Max Vert Reach
Randolph 12'
Beasley 11'10

The Sprint
Randolph 3.26
Beasley 3.26

Body fat percent
Randolph 4.7
Beasley 7.7

Randolph did extremely little during the season until the last month when he got loads of minutes during essentially the garbage time point of the season when the Warriors played both some of the worst teams in the league in the Wolves and Kings, and teams that had already long since locked up their playoff spot and were just trying to avoid injuries like the Spurs and Rockets.

That's an awfully small sample size to hang your hat on. Plenty of guys like Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Andrea Bargnani and others have been known to come on strong at certain points towards the end of the season during their developing years. It doesn't mean they'll come out the next season at that level. Some of them break out, and others don't. Beasley came on just as strong during the last month of the season and I don't expect him to average 21/9 next season. If he does, though, he'll be better than Randolph. If he doesn't, he'll still be better than Randolph. In the end, who has the better career is still impossible to tell, but right now Beasley is far and away the better bet no matter how people's biases tend to run.

To be fair Beasley is way better than Al Harrington. Harrington is not very athletic, his vertical leap is like 10 inches. Takes like hurt, not help your argument.

Our board was always split on Wright. For every fan that thought he would be a star, there was one that thought he would be a bust. Most figured he'd be somewhere in between. Morrow, how has he disappointed? His projection has been as a great roleplayer who can shoot lights out, which he is. But I fail to see how he's been a disapointment considering he wasn't drafted last year and was on nobody's radar before the season. Our board is also split on Ellis as to whether he can be a PG but pretty much everyone agrees he's a dynamic young scorer, which he is. Andris Biedrins is an above average player who fans love for his hustle and attitude, but go to our board, there are plenty who feel Beans is just a roleplayer and is very limited because everything he has no range and limited post moves. Again, these people are ALL unanimous in the assessment that Randolph is going to be a star. There is no debate there, because anyone has watched him extensively CANNOT deny how special this kid is.

Beasley improved greatly on the defensive end from the beginning to end of the season. No reason that shouldn't continue. And shot blocking isn't the only aspect of defense. Ask Denver fans if Camby was as good a defender as his numbers looked.

2 years ago GS fans said Wright was going to be an all-star, and he's been a bust to this point. I never said Morrow disappointed, but he's severely hyped by GS fans. And I remember a few years ago Ellis getting severely over hyped as well.

The kid averaged 7-5 in 17 minutes on a team 30+ games under .500. To say he's a sure thing to be a star is ridiculous. Does he have potential to be an all-star? Yes. That doesn't mean he's going to be one. I personally see him as a 3rd option on a championship level team and should ideally be the teams third best player.

LOL This is starting to get ridiculous. So just because all of the above mentioned people would rather have Beasley means that they are non believers? Most of them people have said or do think that the kid does have potential to be a real good player (just obviously not as good as GS fans think).
