What do you use it for?

I’m using it as a tutor to explain any and everything I need. , I got it to completely re-do my resume. , it wrote my entire research paper. Check out the chatgpt Reddit to find out more

I’m still learning about all of its uses.

How does it do writing PowerPoint presentations rather than research papers?

I don't think giving AI a paper to write is a good idea...

I’m not on my laptop but I will try that when I’m able. But I’m pretty sure I can use your data to generate basically anything you need. Charts graphs. Ect. I’m not the best guy to describe it because I’m still learning it. It’s far more capable than what I can describe

This will put ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT OF JOBS. It can code, it can do all types of things easily that people are currently getting paid for.

Just wait until we get Bron vs MJ threads written completely by AI on both sides

I'm a teacher, I'm more worried about how we can determine if the student is actually doing the work or just having the AI do it. OF course, I'll be able to tell when they present to the class as I ask them to explain concepts or vocabulary that they use and they are unable to but I'd like to be able to catch it before that point.

The existence of term paper writing services is one reason I don't require them anymore. I use researched presentations instead. But they are actually much simpler than term papers to create so should be simpler for an AI to do as well.

Like I said this spans many fields. Be it science, medicine, engineering, , Education, philosophy, coding, Etc. this will affect a lot of people’s job security unfortunately

I know artists aren’t required anymore. Because you can use MidJourney or DALLE to create any type of art you can imagine

Many programmers very much can be replaced by AI.

I know and no, it wouldn't replace sciencists. It's a tool sciencists would use in their job, yes, but it wouldn't replace sciencists work. Like you know, AGI can't create new problems to solve and it can't understand it. A lot of people still misunderstand the difference between intelligence with artifical intelligence.

Many programmers very much can be replaced by AI.

True, but not all of them. It's impossible to let AI make all the work programmers have to do now and make it work.

Your typical programmer that only does very basic things is replaceable, but it's not the end of the spectrum.

You're basically describing that a minority of workers will be people who tell AI what to do while everyone else gets replaced.

No, it's not that simple.
Yes, a lot of people will have to adjust or they'll lose their jobs.

From my understanding, the progress has been extremely fast if it’s currently this capable (don’t think we scratch the surface of all that it’s current version can do) Imagine the subsequent versions it’s probably gonna be able to generate any type of information, photo, audio or task. Build apps for you. Etc. basically anything you need you need. A lot of jobs are probably going to be obsolete.

My point is I think the term “artist” is going to lose meaning soon or they will have a very niche use

I suggest to be more realistic about the growth speed in any type of technology.

Anyway, creating images and even simple apps is cool but I don't think people realize how much more sophisticated human activity in these areas is. Like, no you can't replace all people by AI and believe that everything will be fine.

I am pretty sure people thought this way many times in our history and yet here we are.

Besides, AI cannot create an art by itself. I hope we all are aware of that. You still need people imagination and creativity.

Depends on what you say fast is. There's a bunch of things you can count as improvement if you grade on differences in "extent" as opposed to differences in "kind". On a fundamental level, AI hasn't really changed much since Turing. We are not really any closer to dreams of electric sheep which would be a prerequisite for replacing artists and scientists entirely
