Just got my best rarity score today: 39

Spoiler:
Joe Barry Carroll | Monta Ellis | Sleepy Floyd
Ed Nealy | Bill Wennington | Kirk Hinrich
Jay Humphries | Adrian Dantley | Paul Pressey

Sometimes I’m not able to guess all 9 correctly.

So I clicked on the spoiler and saw JBC then played (and cheated checking whether Marques Johnson ever got to 5 assists, because I didn't think he would have but liked the idea of doing a forward for assists) anyway have played a couple before - like you got a best score (to be fair only played twice before) and don't always get all 9 because of taking risks. Also once I remember one square taking an age ... like twenty minutes (doing other stuff but seriously couldn't think of anyone remotely obscure, or much of anyone).

So pretty happy with getting through quickly and a rarity score of 5.
Spoiler:
Carroll, Av. Johnson, Blaylock
Hodges, Wennington [high scorer at 2% the rest presently below 1], Van Lier
Humphries, D. Ellis, Murdock

I do wonder whether I'd have remembered Carroll without the prompt though (I know he was on the Suns, I remember them eating his guaranteed money to create a spot for someone like Dumas ... but having it somewhere in your head and coming up with it are different things). Mind you now I think I've thought of someone better given a bit of time...

Wow! That's super impressive to get a rarity score of 5. I don't know that I'd ever be able to top that.

Is Alcaraz going to be a matchup issue for Djokovic going forward?
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

I don't know if I'd call it a matchup issue. Alcaraz is ranked #1 in the world, just being Djokovic in a major final, and is younger and probably getting better while Djokovic is older and getting worse. Just seems like a general issue to me.

Something I will say that I'm watching is whether Djokovic - currently at 23 - can get to 25 slams. He's already clinched GOAT-dom, but it will be a hell of a thing if he tops the women's record (Margaret Court, 24).

It would be cool if he has one more each at RG and the US Open.

Honestly I wonder if Djokovic rolls off a few more French wins as he ages.

Yup--less of a match-up issue and more of a "This Alcaraz guy has all the tools to be as good or better than what Djokovic was at his peak".

If anyone's interested, ElGee & JJ Barea will be going live very soon on NBA App for a 2011 Finals G5 Rewatch (in honor of Dirk's enshrinement) :D

I think Djokovic game is so well rounded it's hard for someone to be a bad matchup for him, if the best way to play Alcarez is to hit big serves and go for winners at every opportunity, he can do that as it seems like he's serving better than ever right now to make up for slowing down a bit. My impression is Alcarez has had matchup issue with Sinner and it should be possible for Djokovic to come up a way to do a Sinner impression.

Still it's plausible there could be a slip in motivation after probably locking up major record.

The effortless "I'm gonna blow past my defender and the helpside defense in one dribble" ability of young MJ in these clips is crazy.

Huge news! I usually digress from throwing monikers at prospects this early in their basketball tenure(s), but there are a lot of special things I’ve picked up on Flagg’s film. Most central, that combination of passing and rim protection is very unique.

I feel sorry for Dirk that he has to enter the hall with Wade.

I’d assume the two of them at this point have the utmost respect for one another?

Why?

Both are all-time greats around the same tier all time regardless of their on-court animosity. They seem to have made up too now.

Honestly, I think it's kind of an embarrassment for Wade that he has to be there with Dirk.

"How does it feel to be here all these years later sharing the moment with the guys acted like an immature, cocky idiot against and then saw him make you and your team look like fools?"

I think Wade can own that the egg-on-face moment at this point, but he's not the one who comes off looking like the greater legend when their rivalry is discussed.

Would you like to be reminded of an embarrassing failure of yours that related to pathetic behavior in your past while you're being celebrated?

Dirk is way too nice to dig up the past but Wade questioning Dirk’s illness and mocking him in 2011 for the cameras was very low and unsportsmanlike. I guess Wade has matured as a person now so I hope some apologies were made behind the scenes.
