In a just world, LeBron would easily be first team all-NBA this year. He got screwed out of second team last year. He’s having a better year this year than “Jayson Tatum,” yet Tatum is considered a lock for first team and LeBron isn’t because (1) the media is desperately clinging to Jordan’s legacy and (2) they compare LeBron to himself 10-15 years ago and say he’s not worthy of first team instead of comparing him to the other stars in today’s NBA.

LeBron's legacy may never recover from not getting all NBA second team last year....

LeBron has been flat out better than Luka, even last night he was better.

Luka doesn't look great yet but he's closing out these games with his gravity and passing. It's a far cry from the team I've been watching all season that could shoot 50% and still have no control over late game momentum. Like a young Bron Luka just loves killing comebacks attempt.

They say Luka always plays rusty when he hasn't played in a while. Airballs a wide open 28 footer last night after dropping 2 contested threes on Zubac. The night before dropped a dagger after missing 8 or 9 straight. It's anomalous shooting. Ceiling is high.

It's been a long enough sample but it's still hard to get my head around this team being so good defensively. I know just swapping out DLo for DFS should make a pretty big difference but still.

Luka doesn't have his shot right now. I wouldn't put much stock in it unless it just never comes back. Luka seems to be making things way easier for Bron on offense though which is also helping Bron give more energy on D. Really nice synergy so far and that's with Luka not playing to his standard yet.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

Honestly if these stats keep up and the lakers pass up memphis and maybe denver he's got an edge case for 1st team

After the obvious Shai, Jokic, Giannis, Tatum quadrant, nobody has a 100% case over him

His hands have been great, even if he gets blown by a bit, he manages to get a fair bit of deflections / steals

he looks bigger than his listed size 6'6 too

was listening to the simmons pod earlier, what lakers lack for 7 footers, they have a ton of muscle in the paint in spades

It’s insane how well Bron has been playing on both ends last 2-3 months now. Ben Taylor had him his as 3rd in impact metrics over this period . The defence, rebounding , physical dominance and shooting have been so dialed in. His best midrange year too on top of everything . He will probably have more rebounds than usual , more defence, more high quality looks judging of the Luka games. Really hope Luka can get going especially as missibg reaves n Rui will hurt offensively but hopefully they back in 1-2 weeks it seems, so Luka gotta make shots.

2 seed should be there, imo onky shai n jokic are having better seasons. Lebron is 100/1 to mvp in odds which is third behind shai n jokic ( 4/1 and shai heavy fav). If we can get the 2 seed for home court over Denver I seriously don’t understand Bron not getting first team. But he deserved second team over Kawhi and kd last year but unfortunately folk like bill Simmons have a lot of sway.

Imo Bron has been better then Tatum who I have always felt is firced into convo he doesn’t belong - shoots 30% n isn’t elite at abythinh but gets a huge buff from team mates. Personally I’d have Bron over Giannis too ehos also missed games.

LeBron is just 18 points shy of reaching 50,000 career points – regular season and playoffs combined.

Feel like this is the best his mid-range has looked in a Lakers uniform, it's insane how consistent its looked again. His offense hasn't looked this streamlined and smooth since 2018 IMO

Ham apologists are being let off the hook more than they deserve. Fact of the matter is no new coach deserved what JJ got and it was straight degenerate sht to kick a rookie coach when he was at his lowest. 'Let's scapegoat the new coach to show how much the old coach was scapegoated'. Same thing they did with Bronny and it was straight classless. 19 year old rookie. Rules of decency go out the window when Lebron is involved. Was actually at one point convinced Bronny wasn't a g-league basketballer because one made the mistake of giving the talking heads the benefit of the doubt and assuming they weren't clueless and had actually covered his game extensively. Keeping him over Olivari was straight up the right decision.

LeBron never actually stopped being the best American player. The Westbrook trade happened and haters like Bill Simmons and his cronies in the media kinda just convinced everyone he was being carried by AD (prepare for them to do the same with Luka, if he ever gets back into rhythm). It was clear as day during the Olympics and now everyone who forgot is getting their yearly reminder with him ramping up for the playoffs.
