How was that a choke? We got our asses kicked...

We were the heavy favorites, just remember how we played.. :x

To me, a choke is when you blow what looks like a sure victory. We were never in that series. Now, the 84 and 69 Finals? Those are choke jobs.

That was 1969, against the Celtics.

As a Laker fan it's one of the most gut-wrenching moments in NBA history... Win that one, and the momentum probably snowballs and we rip off 3-4 straight until '72.

Duh moment . . . of course you are right

Nick Anderson in '95 and T-MAC in '03 are easily up there.

Mcgrady's team had no business being up 3-1 anyway. His statement made him look like an idiot, but it wasn't a choke imo

It was definitely a choke. Did it work out that it coincided with Tayshaun Prince getting more minutes and guarding McGrady? Yes. But Tracy and crew all had their performances and level of intensity and urgency drop (except for Drew Gooden who was a **** beast) once we went up 3-1. That's a choke. Tracy's dumb quote, and the fact he and Shawn Kemp were seen laughing on the bench when the Pistons won isn't a good image to have imprinted into your memory forever.

2000 Blazers WCF. I just remembered that at one point in the 4th quarter they were up by 15, I think it was with 8 minutes to go. They scored 1 point the rest of the way and the Lakers took it. It was the Lakers championship year in that three peat they should have lost, and unlike the refereeing that favored them against Sacramento the Blazers just imploded at the worst possible moment.

I can't believe it's taken this long for someone else to mention this. It was the first thing to come to my mind when I saw the thread title.
I remember your posts from the RPOY project, you consistently brought it. Please continue to do so, sir. This board needs guys like you to counteract ... worthless posters
