Tonight snapped a 6 game streak of >70% TS. Only 69.7%

Since recovering from Ankle injury (16 G)

38.2  30.0   7.7    6.9    1.9    0.8    3.0  .698   .666    27.5   136

D.Brasco wrote:That streak has to be one of the more pressure building one's. It's one thing to be just on a scoring run where you can shoot as many time to keep it up but to keep up with 60%+ and 30 points, he's probably glad the monkey's off his back.

Meh, not even that impressive for him. I'm sure he could average close to that on more ppg. He just doesn't feel like playing 100% in the regular season and I can't blame him. He has nothing left to prove... He did everything in the RS from flat out dominance to winning 66 games? He's just playing composed and making shots he needs to, as well as a few tougher ones just cause he can. He's not getting to aggressive because he doesn't want to have some sort of freak accident that would hurt his team's chances in the long run. It's all about the playoffs for LeBron, and if the Heat will be challenged there, then we can expect him to REALLY dominate.

Well we heard all this talk about the bad defensive teams LBJ had faced.

Can someone remind me again what the OKC Thunder are ranked defensively?
k thanks

I was yelling 'NO NO NO' when he was about to take that last 3. I so wanted the streak to continue. Oh well....

As far as the game's concerned, he had a solid night. Would've preferred to see him drive a little more, but guarding Kevin-I-give-refs-BJs-prior-to-every-game-Durant on the other end always takes away his legs. Didn't have his quickness today. Good thing he's such a great shooter this season.

He basically took that shot like saying "**** this record. Stop bringing it up"
He looked like he wanted the TD, to pass.

Poor OKC, they were left to put lil Westbrook on him.

Yeah I don't think he scored even once on a drive tonight, and I thought he could have been a little more aggressive but nice night all the same. Missed out on 40 yet again, that's got to be the fourth or fifth time he's done that.

The most annoying thing about LeBron is that he ALWAYS misses out on the 40 or 50 point barrier because of free throws. Like in that 55-point game against the Bucks, he could've gotten over 60 had he not missed 7 free throws (then again, had he actually been knocking down his FTs that game he wouldn't have been so compelled to toss drawing contact aside in favor of going bombs away from three).

True he had like 4 fastbreak dunks and 1 layup from rebound, the rest were jumpers. What a cherrypiciking!

I don't mind the streak going away. He got the record for the impressive (though arbitrary) string of games, and it's not like anybody is going to match it anytime time soon.

It's cool that he doesn't care.

The 55 point game? He had 43 at the 9 minute mark in the 3rd. He could have gone for 70 that night but finished the third with 49 then didn't really shoot at all in the 4th.

He had a game against NY once where he was at 33 2 minutes into the second quarter (Feb 2010), but just stopped shooting after that and finished with 47. He's a real troll when it comes to high scoring games.

Wait, LeBron seriously had 33 points 14 minutes into a game vs. NY?

Yes, back in the 09-10 season. He was hitting one long jumper after another to start off the game, but like he normally does when he's on fire, he stops shooting after a while. LeBron has always displayed a furious of lack of desire for BIG scoring games(45+ points). He would rather have a 35/10/10 game, which is something I don't really get. 50 points>anything else.

Found the game. It was 31 in the first 14 minutes, not 33. My bad.

He's had at least two games in a Heat uniform where he could have gone for 60 as well (@ATL in 2011 and Game 6 against Boston 2012) and he's had a handful as a Cavalier where he could have gone for at least 70. He's just prone to stop shooting in those kinds of games, its strange as hell.

He has this ability to explode, and even though he's such a natural scorer he's wired so differently from a lot of stars. He had another game against Portland where he had 31 in the first half but just decided to facilitate in the second (finished with 41-10-8 or something). He seems to value triple doubles more than those 50 point games.

I respect his consistency actually. You know what you're getting with lebron, this season more then ever. If you're expecting lebron to be jacking up shots and trying to get 50 point games than you don't know lebron. That isn't his game.

LeBron would rather have a triple-double than a 50 point game that i'm sure of and i don't find anything wrong with that. Especially since his triple-doubles tend to look like 35+ points, 12+ rebounds, 10+ assists. LeBron vs Kobe sort of reminds me of what elgin vs oscar must have been like in the 60's in terms of style.

Just like i would take oscar over elgin in the 60's, i'd take lebron over kobe.

Is there a better shot in basketball right now than LeBron's right corner three?

15/26, 57,29% shooting

I know, it is a very small sample, but it is still rougly 5% better than Korver's right corner or Ray's left.

By the way, that new stats engine on nba.com seems to be awesome.

Or Lebron spotting up in general.

46/84 including 33/65 on threes. That's an eFG% of 74.4% on spot-ups. He's #2 in the league in PPP

To me the fact that he didn't care was more impressive than keeping the streak.
