What's MJ's clutch stats if you took out the insane 90-92 run? Did you get every single MJ clutch situation or did you have a few missing?

Not every game is eligible to be considered "clutch", due to the stipulation of it being a 5 point margin with 5 minutes or less remaining. I have checked every single playoff game of his career from 1985-96 except one, 1985 Game 1 vs. Bucks. That is his first playoff game, which the Bulls lost by 9 points. According to the game recap, the closest the Bulls got was within 7 points in the final 5 minutes.

MJ's rebounding, assist, and TO per 48 numbers seem pretty low when you compare them to LeBron.

Its greatest clutch player ever, without hesitation.... Even without his 3year peak (and why we need to cherry-picking these, its like exclude Shaqs three-peat from his stats - how he will looked after?) his stats were marvellows.

These no calls on LeBron are crazy. A lot of stars got foul calls to protect them.

LeBron is also a tremendous player. Even in the regular season in 2009 & 2010, he ranks at the top of clutch leaders.

The question should not be "Who do you want to take the last shot?", but rather "Who do you want on your team in the 4th quarter?"

I know this is an old thread - but I'm adding a post since I did some (light) checking on the data.

In this overall 24 game sample MJ was:

339/655 FGs
17/50 3P FGs
207/244 FTs
Scored 902 points

This gives an overall TS of 59.16%

Note that based on Dipper's data this means that 24% of MJs FTAs came in clutch minutes while only 12.5% of his FGAs came in clutch minutes (so his TS is almost certainly going to be quite a bit higher in clutch minutes).

His overall FTr in these games was .373.
According to Dipper's numbers his FTr during clutch minutes was .707
If you subtract out then his non-clutch minutes FTr would be .324.

I'm not sure if Dipper calculated the Net Rating correctly or not, but the Bulls were a crazy good 4th quarter and OT team in this 24 game sample

Overall point differential = +85
Point differential in 4th quarter and OT = +90
