I think AD is a good defender. But NOP coach is a problem. I'm really disappointed with Monty, who seems to be lost on defensive end and simply doesn't know how to use Davis (or other Pelicans players) defensive abilities. And even the best defensive anchors can't do much without good defensive coaching (vide KG in Minnesota or early Hakeem). No doubt Davis has all the tools (bot physically and mentally) to have great impact on D. And we see it even this year, for example check his Synergy stats: in isolation situations his opponents average 0.71 ppp (17.9% of time), while Hibbert's opponents 0.73 (17.6% of time. AD is also better p&r or spotup defender than Hibbert... so why his impact isn't as big as Roy's? The coach, defensive system - that's the answer IMHO.

Probably not. It's hard for young players to be plus defenders.

This. He does a lot of good things defensively. The Pelicans defense is a mess as a whole though.
