I see Daniels as the better more impactful player during his prime, however DeBusschere's sizable longevity edge makes it a pretty close comparison. Not 100% confident about this one but I'll vote for Mel Daniels in the run-off.

Runoff vote: Mel Daniels

You can knock the weakness of the league he dominated to a degree, but we're pretty well past that. The bottom line is that this is a guy with good size & power who played with great intensity and led to a positive culture that quite possibly propelled them to succeeding where other ABA franchises died.

I like DeBuss a good deal and have no major qualms about him here, but I'll side with Daniels in the close comparison.

I guess we can move on. fwiw, I'm higher on Mel Daniels than I was at the start of this project.
