Paul is a lot more adaptable than he gets credit for. He's ball-dominant depending on the team situation, sometimes he lets the offense flow other times he micromanages, but he still offers a lot more than other PGs when he doesn't have the ball, namely top-flight perimeter defense (especially when he's not as active on offense) and, though he's not a dead-on catch-and-shoot player like Curry he still demands full-time attention off the ball because of the variety of things he can do off the catch.

IMO of the Team USA point guards in recent years he has been by far the most comfortable in that less ball-dominant role. I would choose him especially on a team with multiple other ball-dominant players.

Aside from those already mentioned, I think Joe Dumars also fits the role perfectly. He can play off the ball, space the floor, facilitate when Thomas was on the bench and create his own shot off the dribble. He obviously can carry a team for short stretches, winning FMVP just like Billups did.

Today, I think Heinrich and Steph Curry, with his improved defense, are the best. Goran Dragic could also fulfill that role as he did in Phoenix even though he preferred not to.

Curry because you could easily play him off the ball. I love when the Warriors go with Livingston at the point and Curry at the 2.

Billups was the first name to come to mind. Stephen Curry is probably up there too. He gives you close to 25 points a night so people might think he's shoot first, but that's because he shoots so many 3s. If he played 10 years ago he might have been more like a 20 PPG scorer.

Kyle Lowry. Can play off the ball, score, facilitate, shoot, rebound, and defend.

Any PG? Curry. The spacing he can provide for those types of ball dominant scorers would be unfair.

He's also one of the few star PGs who wouldn't complain about being off ball and would still pass, give it up quickly, and hunt for assists even if he wasn't the primary ball handler.

He was essentially this when playing next to Ellis and any Team USA team-- except his backcourt mate wouldn't find him often enough.

I agree especially if you are interested in finding a superstar PG for your other ball dominant superstar and don't want a role player PG (I know you hate this term, Spaceman :P).

Curry, Paul or even Irving etc. is kind of unreal.
You already have a superstar guard, what are the chances that you can grab another one? :o

So let's be more realistic: Derek Fisher.
Backup: Steve Kerr. :)
PC Board All Time Fantasy Draft:

PG Mark Price (92-94)
SG Manu Ginobili (05-07)
SF Larry Bird (84-86)

C Dwight Howard (09-11)
+
Bernard King (82-84) Vlade Divac (95-97) Derek Harper (88-90) Dan Majerle (91-93) Josh Smith (10-12)
