I watched what little film I could find on Sharman. Cousy impressed with his passing despite being a horrible shooter. At least Cousy had a playmaking skill that was as good as modern playmakers. Sharman on the other hand was supposed to be the great shooter. There was no great praise for Sharman's defense or his athleticism or his size. Shooting was Sharman's great skill but that great skill only looks great when compared against players who by modern standards are horrible shooters.
