So how far does the pendulum swing on Wall vs Lowry if things even remotely stay the same as they have through 2 days of games?

He already has surpassed him during the regular season. If the first game is any indication of things to come Wall could be getting looks as a top 7 or 8 player this season.

Majority of people in the recent "Top 20 Current Players" thread, viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1550758 , had Wall over Lowry. The gap could get bigger if Lowry continues his poor playoff performances; he'll definitely fall out some Top 20 lists.

That's good to see, but for some reason I'm still not satisfied.

People shouldn't judge Wall based on what he is doing vs lottery level team: Hawks are -1,8 pts diff since February 1st (or -1,7 since ASW).

Wall is clearly better than than Lowry been saying that all year. He's right on the cusp of superstardom to me. To me he's only missing more variety in his half court attack

Wall totally dominating the Hawks so far. You dont have to talk about him... but I will.

Wall and Beal on the floor has had a 115.9 ORTG (+7.6 offense) this year.

They reqlly are hitting their groove, imagine if they could grab a very good defensive center

They get one of those (easier said than done) and I think theyd be even or slightly favored vs the cavs
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Butler removing rearview mirror in his car as a symbol to never look back

Yep. Top 3 defense in the span he mentioned (since Feb 1st).

Are you sure? nbawowy says their drtg was 110.1, so very bad. I hope you are not using nba.com numbers, because their possessions based stats can't be trusted.

BBR has them at 106.7 since February 1.

That's definitely not top 3 defense, besides in comparison to nbawowy b-r's data is less accurate (especially from team logs: for example on main team page, or '17 NBA, Hawks have 105.8 drtg, but if we would use team log to see full season drtg, then it would be 106.4. I'm not sure, but probably team log data is based on box scores and they don't have team REB and team TOV).

Worth noting that only Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson and Chris Paul ever put up the raw numbers he did in the RS. I really, really liked him this year, have him flip flopping with Curry for the 5th spot on my POY list. An ECF run with big performances could solidify it.

Curry now only at 29/5.0/5.5 on 56.2 TS% vs a weaker defensive team with less offensive support so Wall definitely has the playoff edge so far.

Curry's shot seems like it swung really high one year and then dipped the other, but every single time I watch him it seems he starts of 2-9 or 1-6, guy has been flat in 1st quarters all year it seems

Johnny Dub continues to dominate. Through three games, 31/10/4/1/1 on 67%TS and 74% from three (only 7 attempts so far though).

He's below the Kidd/Billups/Payton tier for me, and well below the Nash/Paul tier. Probably out of the top ten All time PG peaks, although he may have a decent argument over someone like Frazier based on his explosive scoring.

I had the KJ thought as well, but the thing is, I feel like KJ is in the same tier as that first trio you mentioned, he just lacks the longevity.

It's crazy to me to think about what that means for Wall in the long-term. For a #1 pick who became this good, its crazy how much of an afterthought he is. It's just a really deep time in the history of the league right now where a player can be THIS good and yet still not seem like a Top 5 level player.

THIS. I was just talking about this with my brother (we're both in our late 30s). Players who had seasons like what Kemba or Wall or Lowry or IT (offensively) in years' past would have so much more press.

Healthy Mahinmi, that was the plan. But Wall/Gortat does a really nice job on the pick and roll.
