Okc is def harder than portland was, we had good tools to eliminate portlands only threat

Otoh i wanna see lebron vs lu dolt lol

They'll probably try and switch him off LeBron often, and I don't blame them seeing how LeBron isn't as quick anymore. Fast legs, and 240lbs on a 6'3 frame. Ridiculous.

He does a tremendous job staying with his man on screens, and I do agree that LeBron would get a ton of assists in the PnR, but the Lakers and LeBron are better at capitalizing on mismatches through the PnR than Houston is.

Nah id say houstans waaaay better at hunting mismatches altho lebrons better cs mismatches than harden is because of the nature of their games

Otoh sometimes ur supposed to switch and he just refuses to, i trust lebron to find those windows

They are much better now than they were in 2018 and 2017 though.

Yeah I’d say so. Last season they sucked but they season before they were pretty good and had really good chemistry. No where near as bad as people make out.

Obviously there’s natural development there but I think a common denominator is Kylie.

I agree for 2017,but their 2018 team is very underrated even if their 2020 team is better.

Not sure if I'd call them underrated. The East was fairly weak that entire year.

There were 3 teams the following season that were all way better than the Celtics(and Cavs too probably).

Their 2020 team is clearly on a different level to me.

Amazing how getting rid of Kyrie propelled them. Awful #1 option and leader.

I agree that this year the celtics are in a different level, but the difference between 2018 and 2019, is that Boston had a much better chemistry in 2018.2019 their lockerroom were toxic.

I also believe that in 2018 the Cavs, Raptors and Celtics were at least in the discussion of being among the top 5 team in the league even though Houston and Golden State were by far the top two teams.

The Lebron '20 Thread (Pt. 6)

Post#32 » by Greyhound » Wed Sep 2, 2020 2:47 am

I feel like some of these second round games should have been delayed a day or two. Most teams will be preparing for their third game before the Lakers play their first.

By Saturday mourning the Lakers and Clippers will have only played one game in each of their respective series. The East will be three games in.

I hope they don’t plan on having the Lakers play back to back playoff games to catch up.

That’s like comparing the 2014 Warriors to the 2016 Warriors or 2017 team to 2019 team or 1986 Celtics to the 1988 team

Yeah tbh, most of their young core have progressed hella. They had a below league avg offense in 2018 and a top 5 one this year, they were still way better than the cavs tho

Time for some new material, guy. This was hashed our a week ago.

Your beating a horse that’s beyond dead at this point. I was wrong (and owned up to it) but I stand by my stance of respecting the opponent.

I had the Lakers winning in a closer then anticipated series btw. I am not sure where you are getting this sweep stuff from.

Do you think I am the Chuckster?

I don’t see why it’s disrespectful for us to say Portland had no chance. We aren’t playing in the games so i don’t see the big deal.

This usage of respecting is not the opposite of disrespecting the opponent.

My usage of respect is in reference to the appropriate level of fear one should show to all opponents. Not showing respect to your opponent means that you do not see them as a possible threat (even in a worst case), it does not mean that you disrespect them.

Even if an opponent is outclassed, I cringe in the face of fan arrogance. In the case of players, arrogance is understandable. Some need that edge to perform. Arrogant fans are just obnoxious.

The appropriate level of fear i have for portland is about the same amount i have when a fly enters the room
